EPCOT's Future World to become Discoveryland on October 1??

I agree on the idea of a weather pavilion. 2% likely overall, in other words, it isn't happening any time soon if ever. I truly am waiting for that attraction that makes me feel like Disney is still being handeled the way Walt Disney would have wanted it to be handled.

I think at one point the company was deciding on wether to bring Soarin' or that Storm ride from TDS to Epcot and thats where the "weather pavillion" rumor grew from. Obviously Disney chose Soarin' instead. Which I think was the better choice out of the two.

There's a work-around solution for that...

The only problem (IMO) will be the closing of a huge part of the park...

Whoa Corrus! Tipping the hand a little bit early, aren't you? May be a little late for me to step in and say, "nothing to see here."

Maybe not.... Move along folks, nothing to see here...

That makes sense. I am definitely glad that they ended up putting in Soarin'. I do wish that they either moved Food Rocks to where the horrible Circle of Life show is now or used that spot to put in a new attraction or a new entrance to a new ride.

The circle of life has a reason for being there. It has to do wtih protecting this planet we live on and helping to teach our youth about it. It does need to be updated.

It's got nothing to do with, me liking it or not... mark my words... before this christmas, it will be closed for good... it should have been closed a long time ago... it's outdated, scruffy... and old... so get used to it... C.O.P. - R.I.P. :lookaroun :) :D

But think of what you could do with the space... (and no...no meet'n greet)

I agree with Corrus its time for C.O.P. to go. Bring on America Sings!

But seriously, I think COP needs to get replaced with a new ride. I would be happy if they finally replaced it with the flying saucer bumper cars (WITHOUT movie tie-in preferably).

I think that this show is a waste of space. Schools teach students about protecting the planet and that show isn't going to change anyone's mind about helping or hurting the environment. I wouldn't listen to a talking Boar and a weird mole about anything- I would go see a mental specialist to help me realize why I am now understanding animals. :lookaroun

I think we need to consider a huge factor here. Bumper Cars have always had and will always have horribly long queue times. The problem is that the bumper car arena is never big enough to accomodate more than 25 cars. Because of this, a maximum of 50 people can ride during one 1-2 minute session. That would mean that only 150-300 people could ride per hour. That is a horribly bad amount of riders. This would be one of the only rides at MK (other that Stitch's Stinky Escape) that can't handle crowd flows. By having this problem, you would see a huge line outside of the ride building (i.e. Turtle Talk with Crush) causing a horrible buildup in Tommorowland. Overall, this problem would cause more damage to Tommorowland than any retheming (i.e. New Tommorowland) could ever do.

well the COP building is bigger than most bumper car arenas and can hold more cars and they could use the skyway station as a themed indoor queue.
oh and I agree about Circle of life its a waste of space and needs to be replaced with a ride or something. I know it was a rumor but I think the Rainforest roller coaster makes the most sense and hear me out. The queue can begin in the circle of life theater and there can be all these facts about protecting the planet (think like the soarin queue with its monitors displaying various facts) then the ride itself would be similar to the Flying unicorn ride at IOA but alittle bigger and the track could go in and out of a small "jungle of trees". This is why I think the rainforest coaster is more than a rumor because it just makes sense.

Yes, but it also costs money, something that Disney is willing to spend on a pavilion it just spruced up only last year.

I kinda have to completely disagree. Not with your opinion that COL should be removed, as I have never experienced it I will not judge it. The thing is, Schools DON'T teach you to protect the environment. My school has a club called S.E.A.S (Student Environmental Action Society), which I am proud to say I am not only a member of, but the PR Person for it:D . Anway, not many school have that kind of club. Disney needs some kind of attraction that gets people to think abiout what they're doing to the world and that it DOES matter. A big problem with the world today is that people tend to forget about Tomorrow (ooh, I like that . . .) and don't think about what they do. SOMETHING MUST be done to get people to realize that the world needs to be protected and preserved. If things keep going the way they are the world will be uninhabitable one day, and then what will we do, and who will we blame? There are too many ignorant people in the world and no one seems to realize that they are among them (not to call anyone here ignorant!). The world isn't just going to keep perpetuating if we destroy it. Someone has to step up and let people know.

None of us here are disagreeing with you in that aspect, but what you have to realize is that we are saying that this attraction isn't and never will be able to stop people even children from polluting and harming our planet. Talking boar's and lions don't do that for us.

Also, just a note, you might want to remove Thrawn from your sig because he no longer exists :lookaroun.

I'll have to trust you about the attraction; I've never seen it. Maybe it can be improved? I'm really throwing darts in the dark.

PS - I realize Thrawn is gone, but I figured those were the most proceless words ever posted here on WDW Magic :animwink: .

You know what, I think it was to me that that quote was directed. I remember he said those same exact words to me on one thread because he stepped far over the line that time. I think that was his last full thread on WDWmagic before he was abolished. Just to let you know, he has moved over to Disney Central Forums and Micechat

Anyways, the only way the attraction can be fixed is for it to be destroyed.

Circle of Life

Circle of Life is a wonderful film providing guests with beautiful views of the United States within a beautiful soundtrack. It also provides a cool comfortable place to rest during a hectic day. It also provides a nice way to spend your time waiting on your Garden Grill reservation or your fast pass. WDW needs more sit-down attractions, not less.

I am not a big Lion King fan, but your completely off on the Circle of Life statements. What better way is there for a child to learn about how their actions effect everyone, and then in turn how everyone's actions effect them. Children respond to Disney characters, and they get entertained by them. These things might as well be used to teach a lesson when possible, instead of always being an entrance to a thrill.
Not everything has to be a ride. Theme parks like Disney need to maintain various amounts of different attractions to appeal to a whole family. That would include the sit-down theater types that give little kids and older people a break.

Personally, I am still entertained by CoP though it certainly no longer fits in the Tomorrowland theme. So, let me toss an idea out that would preserve CoP but would also allow for its removal. Since CoP had its start OUTSIDE of a theme park, could it not taken back OUT of MK and placed, say, at DTD? They could restore it back to its original 1964 script and presentation and they can quit trying to keep the last scene updated. It would then be more of a historical attraction. Disney could charge a small fee for DTD visitors to ride it.

Just a thought. Feel free to shoot it down.

that's a cool idea, or just have it be free at DTD-- or just show a sales receipt to ride.
