Epcot's Character Spot to close for major refurbishment

The current area is awfully small. But I thought some of the rumors indicated them expanding the area in use for the Character Spot.

I can say I really like the mural painting used as the backdrop for the new temporary location.
I think that carpet has been there about at least 10 years. It is going to have a bit of a funk. I think it was there from the last restaurant refurb back when it was a pasta place.

I was thinking of the other Segway central area....This makes me unhappy!

My thoughts exactly. It's a cooler backdrop than what they were using up until a few days ago. A print of that mural would look awesome in my basement...

I'm very impressed with that art they have behind the characters. Finally something aesthetically pleasing, and not cheap, random, non Disney characters and unappealing art. The perfect thing to do now is to copy that art to the old location, and give the characters futuristic costumes. The imperfect and stupid thing to do is add fastpass. I hope the old hallway becomes quiet once again after the new spot opens, and please, add more seating, people are sitting on window ledges because of the lack of seating.

I liked the mural until I saw the Mission:SPACE part... Other than that its beautiful.

i love mission space and think it represents a piece of future....and past all in one....im upset so many people bash it because it makes them sick and what not....

Its a crappy attraction in every way and if it represents anything its what happened when TDO tried to make Epcot relevant with cheap thrill rides that leave absolutely no impact on you and you walk off saying meh. That's Future World nowadays for you nothing but meh.
