There is a new display in innoventions east, it kind of reminds me of the test track queue but you actually get to do the testing.

good shots sean! -one question though, those new covered areas they are building at the front gates (your 1st pic) are those replacing those current tents they have for security? -i hope so, those tents are so tacky looking, and i must say those newer, permanent coverings actually look pretty good.

well, those new coverings match the theme of the area, it helps. Also what is going on outside MS that they nees that cheery picker?

Just for info...it's not a cherry picker...it's a Condor lift. (sorry for that MAJOR sidenote :) )

I would like to hear the answer to this question though...why is it needed?

The innoventions exhibit had a number of different test.
1. pulling on a cord and trying to break a t.v. of course iti will not break.

2. dropping a big barrel on the top of a construction hat.

3.jumping up and down on a spot on a floor would open certain doors.

There were other test, it was ok.

My guess is that they just put it there for "storage purposes" to keep it out of the public eye so it doesn't destroy the aesthetics of the building.

You do have to think about it this way: Why would you want to see this beautifully designed and constructed building only to have a cherry picker parked in front of it?

the point of the display is just to show you how they try to make the tv tube's shatterproof. just a safety thing.
