Has anyone participated is a self-produced pub crawl in EPCOT? My husband HATES, HATES, HATES:fork: (is that strong enough) WDW - so I am trying to put a spin on things and mix up what would be my normal experience in something that might interest him.

I am sure that there is not a Disney's sanction pub crawl - but does anyone remember a thread talking about pub crawls or participated in a pub crawl around the WS in EPCOT?

Thanks!

You can check out my trip report and see the pics from my DH and I drinking around the world and in each country we took a pic with our drink and a hat from that country! It was fun!! We also saw quite a few groups with made up TShirts that said something like "drinking around the world for Mary's 40th bday!" or "Pub crawling around the world for the FSU graduating class of 09" and we also so a bachlorette party. I had never seen it so much before but there were many groups like this.

Oh yeah, it's been done hundreds (probably thousands) of times. generally known as the "Drink around the world" with a sampling of a beer, wine or spirit local to the pavilion.

I've seen a lot of groups with t-shirts, just make sure they don't have any profanity or you will be asked to change.

Just remember to drink some water once in a while and get some food, even just appetizers help, on the way around the world.

and don't forget that you're NOT in a bar distrcit, you're in a family vacation spot so don't let anyone get too out of hand...no one wants to try to explain to their kid why that large man is "p"ing in the World Showcase Lagoon.

It's a great way to sample some drinks that you may not ordinarily have. If you expect to hit every pavilion I would start early and plan to end for Illuminations time.

Also, I recommend starting in Mexico and ending in Canada...I find the tequila (or margarita) is a great way to start and then you can end with a beer and fireworks. It's not as nice to have a belly full of booze and then top it off with a shot of tequila :hurl::hurl::hurl:

I don't think your situation can be saved. When you have to put a triple hate before WDW, not much to be done except divorce.

I did this for my 21st birthday back during my CP. What we did was start actually at the Boardwalk and hit all the bars and beer carts on the way into Epcot. We then went right from International Gateway and hit all the countries. When we got to Mexico, we had margaritas and then started the trip back to the other side and stopped again at Norway and Germany on the way towards Canada. It was a lot of drinking but it was probably the best birthday I have ever had.

Have fun!

A fun suggestion might be to buy one of the "passports" that they sell for the kids to get signed at the Kidcot stops, and use it during your escapades... Chronicle each drink, get the CM who sells you each drink to sign it, use the page as your coaster so you get rings on the page, etc etc.
As Figment would say, "Use your imagination!" :)

I have to say "ditto" to this! Great idea! I did this in May when we "ate & drank around the world" in Epcot. It's a fun souvenir. You'll see lots of places to get drinks in each country. We got margarita's in Mexico, Sangria in Morocco, Beer in Canada, Wine in Italy....and so on. We split the drinks though with 2 friends - saved on money & intoxication. Food helps too! :D

I love it, a nice twist on the "list your drink and sign your name, watch the handwriting go to the dogs as the night wears on" pub game. There's an every trip tradition waiting to be born in your idea. I'm trying this the next time I'm there.

Just wondered, are the drinks served at a bar or in the restaurant in the countries? Can you just order a drink rather than a meal? Thanks

Most countries have a stand outside where you can get a drink.

In addition to outdoor stands, there are a few indoor counter places. The UK has a full-service pub at the Rose & Crown. The wine shop in Germany has a counter where you can purchase wines by the glass, or even wine flights. I think Italy and France have wine bars, too.

Great ideas!

Thank you so much! I appreciate all the advice! We will definetly use your ideas ... except for the whole divorce thing.

And don't worry - we will share the drinks and eat dinner. As a mom, I would hate ruin a child's vacation experience.

We are going a "Drinking & Eating around the World" EXCURSION in July.

This time in two parts...Once we did every country and we were so tired it wasn't fun.

Trip 1 - Mexico to Italy

Trip 2 - Japan to Canada

We will skip American Adventure food and drink wise because most of the items are found in the U.S.

Hydrate with water, catch a movie in the pavilions, eat, eat, eat and our rule is ONLY one drink in each place.

Also, I love the idea about the passports.

I second this! My best friend and I both got the passports and chronicled out drinking around the world adventure. We didn't get them signed in each country, however it did come in handy when the bon jovi cover band announced they would be doing autographs. Its also fun to look at it the next day and see how the penmanship and censorship deteriorates as you get deeper and deeper into the countries.
