Epcot or HS New Years Eve

If anyone could give me some help. I am the lucky one :hammer: planning a trip for a total of 12 of us going to Disney from Dec 29 to Jan 4. I have been many times (usually 1- 2 times a year for the past 7 years) but never over New Years. My brother and his family will be joining us and they have never been there. There will be 7 adults( age 60's to 30's) and then the remainder of the party is 1,2,5,17,19,21. So my question is on New Years should we go to Epcot or to Hollywood Studios? Any suggestions would be great!

EPCOT!

The fireworks on NYE are extra special. Plus- it's like a big party all the way around the world. Music, dancing, etc. However- there is a lot of drinking. I notice you have some smaller kids- you might need to consider that. (You might want to hang towards the front of EPCOT!)

I have to echo the sentiments of everyone else on here. I don't think DHS does much more than fireworks for NYE, so Epcot is the place to be.

Around 6pm a whole bunch of activity kicks into full swing. This past year I noticed/knew of DJ's and/or bands in China, Italy, as well as Future World West and the Fountain Stage. And the New Year's fireworks tag is nothing short of amazing...you might wanna hold your ears for the finale ;)

All in all, 2 showings of RoE, an amazing party atmosphere, and so much going on? Epcot is definitely the place to be, but again, get there EARLY to enjoy it all.

I heard from someone who's husband works at HS that NYE is awesome over there. But my parents were at EPCOT last year (I was working) and that's where I plan on being this year. Magic Kingdom fireworks are really good so I'd recomend seeing those but they start them two days early so more people can see them.

Since you have people going with you that have never been there, you might want to warn them about the MASSIVE amounts of people that will be there. Usually the parks are at maximum capasity by that late morning/early afternoon and stay like that until the parks close. So just be prepared. I am going to Pleasure Island for new years so I will have the people as well!! Its all a big PARTY!!!

i love magic kingdom,
however with the choices you gave epcot. get there very early and dont leave , you risk not being able to get back in because of compasity

We have spent two New Years Eves at EPCOT and had a blast. Remember, alot of the parks shut down early when they reach capacity so you have to pick a park you want to be in for the day - and night.
