In the continuing saga of "WDW wastes more money on a dumb and unnecessary decision" -

Seas with Nemo ride to get Fastpass??????

http://www..com/2012/01/25/epcot-seas-pavilion-to-add-fastpass/

Completely not needed AND I really hope this is temporary! Another head scratcher from your friends at TDO. If the HM at the MK can live without Fastpass - so can "The Seas"

Wow...next thing you know, they'll be putting Fastpass on Imagination and SSE, too...

Edit: Yep, that was a hint.

yeah makes no sense, it's a constantly moving attraction. There's no reason to have fast pass.

Peter Pan is too. Sadly, constantly loading doesn't always mean faster loading. I've seen the line for Nemo get up to about 45 minutes at times (Lord only knows why).

I'm confused. What is the downside to ANY attraction having fastpass?

That's why I think fastpass should go from Peter Pan. It just slows down the standby line unnecessarily - JUST WAIT IN THE LINE PEOPLE! :)

Even though PP is always moving, it doesn't necessarily mean it can push more guests through per hour. I'd have to look it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if Splash Mountain puts more guests through an hour than PP.

Since when does this ride need Fastpass? First of all, it's an Omnimover. Second, that thing NEVER has a wait. Ever. Never ever. Even when it opened the longest it got was MAYBE 30 minutes.

Did they learn nothing from the debacle that was Haunted Mansion's FP system?

During Christmas week, waits were over an hour. Of course, so we waits for Imagination.

I've seen waits for the Seas hit 45 minutes in the afternoons on many occasions.

Is there even room for a FP line? If I'm remembering the queue right it's just the one winding line right? Where would they even put it?

:brick::brick::brick::brick:

Who are these idiots who come up with this stuff?

SSE, Imagination, Nemo...When you have to add FP to attractions, that on a busy day pull in a 40 min wait, to make your "new and exciting offering" of Xpass attractive, maybe its just better to nix the whole thing.

With only 5 attractions at Epcot offering Fastpass, maybe it's a way to for guests to "waste" their Fastpass. So, for that time it's used on Nemo, SpaceshipEarth, Imagination, rather than on Soarin, Test Track, and Mission Space like everyone else. Maybe it'll help congestion some way?

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Makes sense.

That is likely the case, as the article says. With Test Track closed, everyone would just use their Fastpasses for Soarin'. This will help relieve the congestion even though it's unnecessary.

I'm eager to see how this will be implemented. I don't really ride this ride anymore just because it isn't worth it frankly. But I've never seen it over a 20 minute wait, but I don't even bother walking over there anymore so idk how it usually looks.

Sounds like my dream of having FPs for restrooms might not be far behind.

Seriously, though, I can't believe they'd consider FP for Imagination. What's the point?

I totally agree! Even if with FP the same number of people get through in an hour, to the guest the illusion is that it is going much slower. Nothing makes me more angry than being right at the FP cut-off rope and being stopped for 5 minutes while FP people get to walk through. IMO Peter Pan should have FP even though I totally understand why it does. Hopefully with the new queue it will be better designed.

Yep I think you hit the nail right on the head there...

If it's "Journey Into Imagination Featuring Fastpass," at least the Brazilian tour groups will be tricked into thinking it's a big ride, driving up its attendance. Us regulars will use its Fastpass about as often as we use Maelstrom's or Mission: Space. As far as I'm concerned, the only rides where FP is beneficial at Epcot are Soarin' and Test Track.

Putting FP on the Seas or Imagination while Living with the Land has one that it doesn't use makes about as much sense as opening counter service locations in the Fantasyland Expansion while several counter service locations in the MK remain closed.
