^ Torrents; you need to install a free program (called a client program) on your PC. I use ABC, others use Azereus or uTorrent. All do the same thing broadly speaking. Google will find you one to download for free.

Next, download the torrent you want - example, at MouseBits, goto the `torrent` menu, or list, and right click to save the torrent name you want. This then downloads the torrent file, a very small file only a few k in size, which one you have saved it and clicked on it will open and tell the client program where to download the actual media file from - this could be several computers anywhere in the world. Downloading from several PCs helps manage the flow of data and spreads the load evenly. Think of it as a private file-sharing network, but one where you can`t browse other users collections. This is how MouseBits manages not to allow available-to-buy media to be shared. You can only download what was uploaded and approved by the moderators.

My question is this: that thread and the instructions are from 2004. A lot of technological improvements have happened in 3 years. Are the instructions from the first page still accurate? Is there more advanced software that should be downloaded than is listed on the first page?

the network changed form newnet to irchighway .. the rest stays the same .. I'm pretty much the only server left .. but I'm on a 5mbit upload pipe (soon to be doubled once again9 so my server can handle a lot of users

I'm so confused. I have tried everything step by step that you have written but nothing works.

Trying to find a needle is a haystack is easier than finding help on those sites. :brick:

I downloaded a file, clicked on it to add it to the torrent, started the torrent and nothing happens. It's said "0.0% up/downloaded" for an hour now.

Probably goes without saying, but just a reminder that on Mousebits, you need to be registered on the site in order to see the torrent list. This might be a point of confusion.

DisneyEverest - The entire Innoventions loop is on Mousebits. I was looking for nearly the same audio a few months ago. I tend to play the short (20 minute) loop several times a week. :)

If anyone has any questions, head to the forums on that site, there are plenty of us who are willing to help.
