Epcot monotrail not running

What basis are you making that statement on? Unless you work in Disney transportation, you really don't know what the extent of the work is. Disney isn't about to sacrifice the satisfaction of guests staying at three of their top tier resorts to do this project. Damage control over 2 hours once a week when crowds are lower is a lot easier to handle than a month of shut down would be.

I know that there bus system has almost 300 buses. With 300 buses you can do a lot in the off season. From what I've heard the monorails and monorail beams are falling apart, literally. This is a bigger issue than people and Disney are making it out be. I've heard this from multiple reliable sources. I hope it's not a huge issue that will take forever to fix, but unfortunately it sounds like it is.

I was there last night as well. The monorail was still down when the park closed at 9. We were on Soarin' right at 9, and made it out the front gates at around 9:40. We considered heading over to MK to finish the night, but decided against it once we saw the monorail was down.

Luckily, we had our car in the parking lot (first row behind handicapped! Epcot was pretty empty yesterday) and didn't have to deal with the buses. So glad! It looked like a crush of people still at all of the bus stops, even 40 minutes after the park closed.

Had trouble this morning on the resort line. Got on at CR and took 30 minutes to get to MK. An announcement was made that everyone continuing to CR from MK should exit the monorail and walk because that would be quicker. Then we were told to find an alternative way home when returning from the MK because there wouldn't be any monorails to or from MK for a long time. Hopefully it will be resolved before we leave MK.

must be a pretty major breakdown then since it's sun and the park is open late. I'll check with contacts and see what is going on.
