I don't know, but Amsterdam would be a very awesome addition to EPCOT! I can just imagine the wonderful coffee shops....

I know, I know...but seriously -- there IS more to the Netherlands than the red light district and their drug laws. Unfortunately, that's all the world likes to focus on. I just think it would be a cool addition to the world showcase.

I don't know much about the place, really, but when I think windmills, I think of Universe of Energy! :)

It would be a good country to have, though....but isn't it a little like Norway? Or did I just show my relative ignorance....?

Many countries were considered for World Showcase, and many fully-designed pavilion concepts sit unused in the WDI vaults. The problem was attracting willing sponsors from the represented countries.

Honestly, there really isn't a country in the world that isn't world a WS pavilion. Some might be similar to many people, but virtually every country is interesting enough if people give it a chance.

As for WS countries that are rumored to possibly be built:

Argentina
Australia
Brazil
Costa Rica
Egypt
Equatorial Africa
Greece
Holland
Israel
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Spain
Switzerland
Thailand
Turkey
Venezuela

I'm sure many people may add more or debunk some, but there's a list I compiled in about 5 minutes.

There's nothing from South or Central America yet. I would like to see Peru but given the HUGE Brazilian population that visits Disney in the summer they probably want to be represented first.

I would also like to see Greece...it would definately stand out if they chose to represent iislands such as Mykonos or Santorini with all the brilliant white and blue colours everywhere

Too much Europe. No more Europe. Not to say I don't love Europe.
Guess we had a lot of money to invest in `78. Plus the WED delegation had an easy time travelling the landlocked countries one by one. Nice avatar, BTW :D

As said above, it comes to money. If a country wanted to pay, it had a pavilion. If a company wanted to pay, you had a show/store/attraction.

It's most similar to Germany, among the current showcased countries. I think someone else posting above was right in saying there's enough of Western Europe represented already, so additions are likely to come from other regions of the world. France, UK, Norway and Germany are all located a short distance from the Netherlands.

It's too bad Busch Gardens Europe doesn't do the Netherlands. It basically covers the same countries in Europe as Epcot (plus Ireland).

Mykonos and Santorini are both beautiful places, although i am not a fan when you get into the main shopping areas, but everywhere else is lovely. They seemed to have wine on tap! It was great :sohappy:.
