I’m Pretty sure it was written for figment to host the show and they couldn’t afford David G, so they had a random kid do it. Seriously, the only thing that makes sense.

I was there live. It has some nice moments. The kites are really cool. I like it better than happily ever after......
Could not disagree with this more. From Pacing to the emotions to the Grand score.... I know it's a World of Color style clip show but still, happily ever after has it all over this show.

I've had the pleasure of being to the premiere of both shows. The Crowd went nuts for Happily Ever After. That did not happen tonight at Epcot Forever.

Some have said the pacing was better than ROE, because there's no slow portion in EF. I actually think that strengthened ROE. That's why ROE was so powerful. It wasn't afraid to use slow emotional parts in the music and turn down the visual show to low in order to accentuate the highs. There was more depth to ROE. The story telling was just better, in addition to a more compelling story.

I know this is just temporary, but I have hard time seeing Disney using that same level of story telling with HMUS. More likely they'll just go for non-stop action.

It was also interesting to me that there were only two times I could hear the crowd cheer from livestream: 1. During the 5 seconds ROE music played, and the 10 seconds Tapestry of Nations music played.
That says something...

Add “Whole New World” to list of Disney songs I now dislike:

  • How Far I’ll Go
  • Building Snowman
  • Go the Distance
  • Won’t say I’m in love
  • You’ll be in my heart
  • Part of your World
  • Out There
  • Reflections
  • The Pocahontas Soundtrack
  • Oh Oh oh Zootopia Song
  • Whole New World
Yeah, that’s gonna get me some hate.
Well, there's no accounting for taste.

If that were the case they would not have brought Captain EO back and brought back Captain EO merch etc.
I always was disturbed by that warning sign..

Another hot take after rewinding the live stream and watching the show again:

BIG missed opportunity to finish with "We've Just Begun to Dream" after that last Walt quote about Epcot always in a state of becoming. While I don't like the inclusion of "A Whole New World" towards the end, I can see how it "fits" into the idea of the show, and I'd be more accepting of it if the show ended on an actual piece of EPCOT music. And WJBTD was the perfect song for that.

Seriously, imagine this re-recorded as the ending finale to the show. Can't emphasize what a huge swing and a miss this is the more I think about it.

Why are there so little fireworks in this show? Why aren't there more lasers and search lights and special effects. Oof, sitting at home contemplating this show is not good. There are tons of missteps that need to be fixed and fast or this is gonna flop harder than ROL.
Lasers don't really show up on camera.
