Never say never we could get another Eisner or something
The guy who asked if they could make a series based around a candy..

The same guy who bravely released a banned 1946 film to release in 1986 and also got a log ride based around it .

The same guy who rereleased Pinocchio as a dark Horror film

Oh yeah, he also had this show produced that no one even remembers..

In regards to the parks, the main difference between Iger's Disney and Eisner's Disney was their rate of quality. Iger's Disney has been defined so far by mediocre additions (TBA, FEA, EPCOT Overhaul, MMRR) with a few standouts (Avatar, SWGE, CR), and disregard to thematic integrity to shove IP into inappropriate places, while Eisner's Disney had been defined by its very high highs (SM, TOT, TT 1.0, CTX, IJA, Fantasmic, Illuminations RoE, Fastpass) and very low lows and mediocre/unpopular additions (JIYI, Rocket Rods, Space Ranger Spin, Mission Space, Euro Disneyland (Finances wise), DCA).

Eisner actually built imaginative quality stuff and Iger just seems to be buying up the popular creations of others, ruining them, and shoe horning them where they don't belong in the parks. I would take Eisner again over someone like Iger. For the lows of Eisner, at least there was some imagination there.

"Well, as you can see there's not much going on upstairs imagination wise" ;)

I think the changes to Epcot was a massive failure.
I agree with a lot of the points you made but to say that all the changes to Epcot were a massive failure is... Unfair? I guess.

I think Epcot is far from it's peak but it's also a very fun place to be. It's more alive now than it has been in my lifetime. I was not around for Epcot's golden era or its Millenium era. I was born in 2007 and I've been visiting Epcot since 2012 and In that time it just was NOT good. It was dying and the only thing keeping it alive post 2016 was Illuminations and like.... Frozen?

Fast forward to today and I think Epcot is way more enjoyable. It's more alive, it's more colorful, Luminous is a great show, Cosmic Rewind is one of the best theme park rides in the world, the SSE lights are iconic on their own, Space 220 is a cool (albeit overly expensive) experience that would have existed in the Eisner era, Journey of Water (whether you agree with the IP inclusion or not) is a VERY Epcot sort of attraction and fits well, and Test Track is possibly going to recieve it's best version. Yes, there are losses like the hub is good but not Disney standard and Horizons should have never died but to say there is NO positive is really crazy.

Because of how long World Celebration took, many think of the Epcot update as just that, when in reality it included:
  • Green Mission for Mission Space (Positive)
  • Canada Far and Wide (Positive)
  • Awesome Planet (Positive)
  • Beauty and the Beast Sing Along (Negative)
  • Space 220 (Positive)
  • Ratatouille and France expansion (Positive)
  • Connections (Positive)
  • Creations (meh)
  • Club Cool return (Positive)
  • Cosmic Rewind (Positive)
  • Journey of Water (Positive)
  • World Celebration Gardens (Meh)
  • CommuniCore Hall (Negative)

Many of these are really lateral moves at best. I would argue there’s not anything in the central plaza that’s better than what came before it (aside from the food quality at Connections), just things that are about even and things that are significantly worse. Awesome Planet was a great move, Far and Wide I don’t think is any better than the old Canada film. It’s hard to say “Club Cool came back” is really positive when it was part of the same project that removed the old one.

I vastly prefer what's there now to what was there before.

*puts up flame shield*
And how are you related to the designers of World celebration?
JK!
Its fine, its good to know there are some folks (other than the interns who designed it) who like it.
JK!

Seriously, the best thing about these boards is that folks can post their opinions and I am sincerely glad you like it. I do not like what they did but its done and I will continue to visit EPCOT in any event.

The great news for you is that Disney does consider World celebration a huge success and they are not going to touch it for another 20 years or so.

This is a mostly accurate post. I want to Add:
  • Loss of Fountain of Nations (Negative)
  • The "Rust finish" all over World celebration (Negative)
  • The stupid planter (Negative)
  • The broken ground lighting around the stupid planter (Negative)
  • The points if light on SSE (Huge Positive)
  • The return of the three spires in front of SSE (Huge positive)
  • The removal/relocation of the leave a legacy in front of SSE (Huge positive)

Whilst some of them are lateral moves like the new films and Mission Space's Green Mission, they did give the attractions a much needed refresh to stop them from getting stale. And I agree, central plaza is still meh, but I do still prefer elements of it to what was there in 2019 (nameley connections and the added greenery). If they had kept a fountain in the back half I do think World Celebration Gardens would be better received by Park Fans. Still, we did get 3 new attractions, and quite a lot of restaurant updates that I forgot to list in addition to Space 220 (Regal Eagle is much better than Liberty Tree Tavern, and the 2 new Japanese restaurants seem to be well received).
(P.S. I listed Club Cool as a positive because I don't remember them initially confirming that it would be returning when they announced that building was getting demolished, but that was 5 years ago)
