Or at least if it does rain, it stops within seconds of Illuminations beginning like it did in 2007. It was like a small miracle illuminations didnt get cancelled. what a night that was.
It was on hold for 8 minutes. One of the rare times ROE starts late.

And with reason! Surely the same can't happen again. Surely....

So what time is everyone going to get to the parks on the 1st? I really want to get my hands on some of those pins, and I know they will sell out fast. I was thinking of getting there around 5am- is that lunacy or does it sound about right? Will the pins be for sale at the D23 event? If so I can get them then and sleep in a little. ;)

Hopefully someone will get a video of the show for those of us that cant make it. I love EPCOT and would love to be there. I'm just gonna have to have an EPCOT party at my house and watch old videos and look at pics. Have my own food and wine festival too!

Any chance they will use whatever they extend the show with on subsequent nights that week? I'm going to be there, and although I'd planned to park hop and go to EPCOT on that day to see if they'd done anything special, I'm planning to spend the EMH at MK with my 5 year old...we did that on the exact same Monday last year, and as you all know, once you get toward the end of a late EMH, there are no lines. We could probably go see RoE and then head to the MK (we're driving, so I will avoid the Bus/Monorail rush and just drive over), but if they might show it again, well, I think I'd just wait. Any insight? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Illuminations = Overrated

(ducks)

Overrated? RoE?!

Nah.

Long in the tooth and overdue to be replaced? Absolutely.

And I hope the 30th tag is more impressive than the overhyped 25th one was ... but not counting on it.
Illuminations needs better transition scenes between fireworks. Whether it's a larger Earth Globe or something else, I don't know. However, I like it more than any other nighttime show on either coast.

Better than World of Color? Wow. Completely disagree. WoC to me is the best nighttime show on either coast. But admittedly I'm not the biggest Illuminations fan.

to the claims illuminations are overrated... phew, no way man. A great show with AN UNLIMITED amount of interesting view points. Unlike wishes, which forces you into certain parts of MK. Different pavilions offer different perspectives. I watched this show like 8 nights of my 12 day stay in July... love it. A great show to photograph.

I love World of Color as well. I really enjoy the new Brave section as well. If I had to rank them it would probably be:
1. Illuminations
2. World of Color
3. Wishes
4. Fantasmic (Disneyland)
5. Remember (I think that's the name of the Disneyland fireworks show)
6. Fantasmic (DHS)

Wasn't remember the one for DL's 50th? If that's the one you're referring to I'd rank it above Wishes without a doubt. The soundtrack is full of awesome tribute moments for us fans!

I think it's actually called Magical now. I'm referring to the one with Dumbo and Tinkerbell flying around the castle.
