Disney has a HUGE archives. There are Warehouses of things that the Imagineers have built/artifacts/models/ according to the Imagineering Book.:shrug:What does Dave Smith do then?!?:veryconfu

Dunno about the warehouses but I've been to where Dave actually sits and it's not that big of an area. Now there might be more places where stuff is stashed but in the immediate area, it's actually kinda small.

Expect Major changes to each Future World pavillion plus a new pavillion and an old favorite moving to a new area(and Park). Keep in mind these are my ideas so expect to wait at least 10 years.

If you need help getting them executed, you know where to find it!

There's one more smaller room next to this one and then Dave's office. Not much stuff in there. I have to assume that there's more stored somewhere else but I never got a chance to ask Dave about it. I'll have to post more photos when I get home.

And yes, I'm eternally grateful to my friend who got me onto the Disney lot. :)

Okay, so it's gone. Sad.

But this would be a great place for a WDW Preview Center! They could use the space for a big model of WDW property in the middle, with displays and exhibits of the things that are currently being built and that are proposed to be added to the parks in the next few years. The model could be updated to reference the changing exhibits around the perimeter of the room.

DCA's new Blue Sky Cellar Preview Center is proving to be extremely popular. They had to install crowd control ropes and establish a queue to get in this weekend, pulsing the groups of people because the interior exhibits and theater were very full of people gawking at the models and sketches and sitting in the "Wine Tasting Room" watching the TV.

And the center hostess told me that the 100 inch Plasma screen where the 7 minute video plays is one of the largest commercially purchased Plasma screen TV's in existence and on public display. She said WDI was thrilled with being able to buy it. http://www.laughingplace.com/Lotion-View-746.asp

WDW needs one of these preview centers, and this Epcot space would be perfect for it!

I agree that WDW needs a preview center and the popularity of the one at DCA won't be lost on management IMO. Of course I think a better location of a Blue Sky Preview Center for WDW would be to locate it at the Imagination Pavillion! And if the rumors are true that HISTA is closing there is a ready made space for the exhibit. That would get traffic into Imagination and with a decent ride refurb it could draw some crowds on the scale of The Land pavilion IMO. :)

Such a model existed in 'The Walt Disney Story' exhibit in what is now the Exposition Hall. It had a beautiful mural of something like 170 animated Disney characters on the wall just outside the theater. Alas, another spot that has been turned into......nothing.

The mural still exists (or did last November, at least). Just go into the Kodak photo thingy, and keep walking back and back and back. It was partially blocked, but you could see part of the mural.
