I can't get over these. The characters actually feel real instead of standing in the same location for hours taking pictures with kids. Seeing Joy frolic across the grass in Epcot? How cool is that.

I understand the need for standard M&G's but the two don't need to be mutually exclusive.

It’s the type of thing you see at Disneyland all the time. Mary and Burt riding the carousel, the mad hatter and Alice playing musical chairs as the Ragtime piano player plays, Tiana riding the Riverboat.

While walking along the path from the hub to fantasyland the evil queen passed me and said “out of my way peasant!” Perfectly in character.

It’s great to see TDO remembers how to do this when the characters aren’t held hostage to money making character meals and photo pass opportunities.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't that added to the paper maps just before closing? I could of thought I remembered seeing that around that time as well.

I found it, it was in the flower and garden 2020 festival map, which kicked off just before the closing.

Agreed. Real Disney magic right there, and it didn't cost them an extra dime! All it took was some creativity and a fun-having CM.

Stuff like this really makes me miss the days (especially from the 70s, 80s, and mid 90s) when Walt Disney World used to allow the characters to be more interactive with guests. Including wandering around the parks freely.

I really love this. I don't want to interact with characters, but I love the atmosphere they add. This one is especially fun!!

Considering the source of this rumor (*****) its not unexpected to turn up and stink like the dead herring it is.

the rumor didn’t come from our favorite site.... it actually came from another source on Twitter, whose name is actually blocked from typing on here. iirc he seems to be pretty trusted, but I could be wrong. However, they could have just made an assumption and then called it a rumor.
