did they ask nicely? I’m talking about Disney’s noted tendency to reward bad behavior.

They will. All they're supposed to do is 1). Tell them they cant enter, 2). Tell them they can go to guest relations, and then 3). Call a manager or security if it escalates. Nothing more.im gonna guess the cm’s will get in trouble, makes the company look bad imho. also makes the guest look bad but that’s on him.
Not directly related but do cm’s still have the little extras like certificates, cards, etc. They will. All they're supposed to do is 1). Tell them they cant enter, 2). Tell them they can go to guest relations, and then 3). Call a manager or security if it escalates. Nothing more.
Cause I could care less that you’d like to go home and it’s unrelated to the service of product I’m buying.
I agree that this man was behaving like an a$$ and deserves to be called out for doing so. I don't agree that he deserves to lose his job over this. Since when has bad behavior in one area meant that a person should lose their livelihood? I just don't get this desire to completely ruin a person (and their family) over fairly trivial bad behavior.I get it, "don't give stupid people attention", but also this man deserves to lose his job over this.

Cancel that dad!!!!I don’t find it trivial. What he did was bully, looking for a fight, and pulled his phone out as a further threat in attempt to “dox” the cast members in attempt to ruin their lives, simply for doing their job. I firmly believe he should lose his own job over an action like this, and examples have to be made.
Saw it at the poly pool once...wilderness lodge guests trying to get in because their pool was closed. The cast member in question will not get in trouble. At most, maybe a discussion about not talking about their personal life. I assure you, everything else they did was correct and would be backed up by management.
edit: for what it’s worth I have observed management use similar statements for situations like this.
I thought Disney allowed pool hopping when a resort pool was closed? Or maybe it’s only to specific pools like WL can use Contemporary?Saw it at the poly pool once...wilderness lodge guests trying to get in because their pool was closed.
I was there like:View attachment 508172
Their pool wasn’t closed...he called the resort in front of them.I thought Disney allowed pool hopping when a resort pool was closed? Or maybe it’s only to specific pools like WL can use Contemporary?
I think it’s also drawing attention to ones self—kinda like Disney’s dress code ( but that’s a whole ‘mother can of worms)!Cause I could care less that you’d like to go home and it’s unrelated to the service of product I’m buying.
So, it was trivial, as in "no long lasting effects from his bad behavior nor any crimes committed."The cast member in question will not get in trouble. At most, maybe a discussion about not talking about their personal life. I assure you, everything else they did was correct and would be backed up by management.
Even that’s extreme. He was rude, but never threatened anyone or broke any rules. I’ve seen guests do a lot worse and managers just “talked to them” and that was it.If WDW felt that his behavior warranted it, they could have escorted him from the part and/or banished him. This is a punishment that would fit the crime.
I thought the same exact thing. Seems like he was just too lazy to do so in the rain. The funny part to me about that video is the jacka$$ sayin’ he couldn’t find the entrance...it’s a circle, moron, not a freakin’ maze...simply walk around it ‘til you find it...!!!!!
I agree that we've probably all been a little short-tempered, rude/snarky, etc. with a CM when we've been tired/cranky/fill-in-the-excuse. I think where this goes a little beyond that is the fact that this moron has the nerve to video tape this exchange and then post it on social media. I think his hope was there would be retribution of some sort to the CMs or that Disney would reach out and he would get a freebie of some sort. It obviously backfired because no one is siding with this idiot. It's disgusting in this day and age that if there is any conflict or issue, somebody has to whip out a camera and start filming the exchange. There are absolutely times when its warranted but too many times youtube, facebook, and/or instagram are filled with peoples complaints of how "unfair" they were treated or witness to someone acting like a complete . But I guess in the words of Roz, "I'm always watching...always watching!"Even that’s extreme. He was rude, but never threatened anyone or broke any rules. Heck... we’ve all lost our patience with a cm before and said something snarky right? I’m not proud of that fact, but it happens. Just like cm’s often say things innapropriate as well.
Not the same situation. Not even close.Eh, I dunno. I just had a group of friends going to HS a couple weeks ago who weren’t able to get on RotR because their magic bands didn’t work. So they went to guest relations and got them in group 30.
I agree but at the same time he just documented what happened. Cm’s refused to let him on the Carousel at 1 minute after when there was space in the cue and they were being rude to him about it.I agree that we've probably all been a little short-tempered, rude/snarky, etc. with a CM when we've been tired/cranky/fill-in-the-excuse. I totally would go to guest relations if I were having issue with MB and not being able to get into the park in time to try for a boarding group. But I wouldn't go demanding a boarding group time and would accept if they told me there was nothing they could do about it.Eh, I dunno. I just had a group of friends going to HS a couple weeks ago who weren’t able to get on RotR because their magic bands didn’t work. So they went to guest relations and got them in group 30.
Agree the CM should've just stuck to the party line, "I'm sorry sir, Disney policy is..." or whatever. I'm sure that before he started filming, the CMs probably did tell him politely several times that the line was closed. The ride was obviously going. I can imagine he did't care for the response and started filming as soon as he pushed and pushed the buttons of the CMs. Like I said, I agree that there are absolutely times when one needs to film an interaction (Amy Cooper bird watching incident in Central Park comes to mind), but probably not when you're being the jerk!I agree but at the same time he just documented what happened. Cm’s refused to let him on the Carousel at 1 minute after when there was space in the cue and they were being rude to him about it.
