I don't consider my self a fancy pants economist, business person, or knowledgeable theme park operator, but in my opinion, it would seem short sighted to delay/cancel projects that you know are going to taken 2-4 years to complete (if not longer) for an economic situation that is likely to have the most effect in the next 1-2 years...

So what you're saying is don't listen to all the pretend experts on these boards?

You don’t pay for things at the very end of the project.

True, but you also don't see an ROI until a project opens. I guess this is the whole pandemic situation all over again where Disney paused all projects until the economy picked back up and Universal went full steam ahead. I'm honestly not sure which company benefited most from their respective strategy (and maybe it's too soon to say). I would think that you would want the new hardware ready so you could capitalize on the better economy as soon as it comes back around, but again, I'm no expert here.

Universal not only paused all their projects, they altered their overall strategy and started slashing costs in their parks and opening cheap, cut-rate attractions in a policy that continues today.

By the way, the tariffs are likely only part of what is going to be a period of prolonged domestic and international instability.

Wouldn’t it be funny if this time Disney went all in and universal got scared not saying that is what’s going to happen but wouldn’t that be interesting

It’s amazing how a couple projects that couldn’t be easily mothballed continuing has been retold as everything staying on track.

There could be some very creative ways to spin budget cuts on construction projects “because of unprecedented demand” of fan favorite attractions.
For Dinosaur, I would appreciate that!

As for the tariff thing, I really think people are kind of overreacting to something that is likely to be very temporary. Let's just see what happens. I'll bet the tariffs are gone within a month.

Muppets as well! Both can remain next to the planned expansions as well. Again, I’m not expecting either of those to happen but the odds are not at 0 I’m sure.
Lol imagine that. All the controversial stuff gets cancelled and the popular stuff goes through.

"Due to budget cuts, Indiana Jones, the new MI show, and Cars are all cancelled. Encanto, Door Coaster, and Villains are still a go."

I hope you’re right about the tariffs but if dinosaur’s final ride is delayed any further I fear the Indiana Jones ride wouldn’t end up being very good

How many times will someone try to insert their own sane thoughts into a discussion about a crazy person. You can’t pretend a crazy person will act sane.

Of course, on the scale of Walt Disney World, 47 1/2 months is, indeed, a “temporary” delay.
Not to get too lost on debating this person because there really is no point and everyone has their set view of him… but this goes both ways. I don’t think anyone should be certain what his goals are or how long things will last.

Not that that is good for the role he is in, but still.

Apparently some small igaunadons appeared at Disney's cast store. Which is baffling to me; the last time I see them in my Rama photos is late October.

Late shipment? I can't image why they wouldn't put everything they had in the games.

Anyway they didn't burn them; hooray!
