EMH Experiment

Isn't the problem really only for the evening EMH?
In the mornings they check resort ID's before getting in, so everyone in the park is in fact a WDW resort guest.

It used to be that EMH was only in the mornings.
The evening EMH are where it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff since both types are already in the park.

Could they possibly close the park for 30 minutes, scoot everyone out, and then allow the resort guests to reenter?
Sounds good on paper but may not work in actual practice.

:)

they should bring the wristbands back. its the easiest and most effecient at the moment. im not bashing the the cm's or cps, because i used to be a cp, but another part of the problem is no one likes working a emh shift, and at the end of the night/10hour shift they dont seem to be alert to things like this...or care.... especially things like language barriers, and large groups of people

They are doing this "experiment" because the same thing was happening with wrist bands. People would let others borrow their room key to get EMH wrist bands. Disney is trying to find a way that works better.

I can see that happening occasionally, but most times we have stayed for EMH evenings they have hand held scanners. This actually caught us once when myself and my DD got out wristband as DW was in the restroom. She came out and I handed her what I thought was her room key and it was mine and they would not give her a wristband because that room key had already been used.

If they had the scanners working at all distribution points this would not be an issue at all.

We need time for things to happen.
Once the person gets a wristband, do the card first to confirm your a guest on property with a valid date of stay (one time use only) and get the wristband, so this way they can know your only doing it once, like the color coded light -- like green lit, mean go ahead and give them a wristband, and if others attempt to give the kttw card to other visitors, they have to go thru that process again and the color light is lit red, meaning the card has been checked/issued to one person and no wristband for them to proceed. just an idea i came up with..

Not only is this a good idea..but it's a good idea that was being used.
The May before last when we went for our annual trip when we went to get our wristbands they scanned our kttw and THEN gave us our wristbands. Last year when we went they were just checking out kttw so we could have let someone use it a dozen times.
I am not sure why they stopped this but apparently this new "experiment" is as horrible as everyone anticipated.

I wish that there was some way that they could have the parks open to certain resorts--not all at the same time. For example: MK resorts get MK late on a monday, MGM resorts get MGM late on monday, EPCOT late for EPCOT resorts, and Ak for AK. Then on tuesday alternate said resorts with different parks. I know that this is totally unattainable but maybe late is said parks close at 8 or 9 pm and are open three hours later. Do the same thing with the morning EMH's too. I just think that the EMH's would be more enjoyable if not every resort guest was at the same park. Who knows? Just my two cents. Or maybe even limit the amount of people that they let in to the particular EMH. If you are not at the park early you snooze you lose.

But that means more EMH nights/mornings on the Cast Members. And let me tell you those days are hell. You can call me whiny all you want, but they are. You're usually there from 3-3, at least at the Magic Kingdom. It's aweful.

Oh I agree. It was just an idea. When I worked at the Disney Store, we had a movie theater just a few doors down and the rule was that we could not shut the doors until everyone was done shopping. Just as the last person would be done, more people would come in because they would see that a store was open and their movie wasn't starting yet so they would make a mess and not buy anything just for something to do. We finally had to get special permission from home base to close right at 9pm or we wouldn't ever get out of there. I know that it would be asking a lot of the cm's I just wish that emh' were more enjoyable.

Forget the evening EMH all together and go back to the E-ticket nights. Well worth the extra $12. Crowds were always small and the lines were short or walk-ons.
