I don't usually do morning EMH, but if I do, I go for a few hours and then park hop.
I love evening at MK and Epcot, so if they have evening EMH, I park hop there for the last two hours or so. The first hour of EMH is too crowded for my taste.
I just realized that I didn't answer your questions Since you are staying offsite, yes, you should avoid the EMH days. They are more crowded and you can't take advantage of those extra hours.
For early EMH you will be required to show a room key to enter the park so you will not be able to enter early. For late EMH you are required to show your room key when getting on attractions but non resort guests are still permitted to use the shops and restaurants providing that you are in the park prior to closing time. You will not be allowed to enter the park after closing without a room key.Can anyone tell me if we stay off site and cannot take advantage of the EMH in the morning or evening, can one still enter the park? I would like to go to MK on an EMH morning to go to the bakery or just walk around. Would I be allowed to enter the park and just not go on rides? I'm not sure how it works as I've always stayed on site before. Also, whenever we have gone to an evening EMH we have never had to wear a wristband nor has anyone asked to see a resort room key. (And we have been staying onsite). Is that the norm? Thanks!
