Ellen's Energy Adventure?

Is Ellen's Energy Adventure worth the length of the ride for two young adults?

You just made me feel 100% better about this plan.. Thanks! ;)

And we probably will stop by Club Cool, although since we live near Atlanta, we've been to the World of Coca Cola, and it's pretty much the same drinks, from what I've read. Still might be a good way to get indoors for a few minutes as needed though ;)
It is the same drinks, and the cup is smaller, like a shot of espresso size or something, maybe a little larger, but not like the World Of Coca Cola size

Wow! I know that 48 people voting doesn't exactly constitute statistical confidence of any type, but I've been checking the numbers of my poll through the day... the portions of the yes and no have been pretty much the same since I first posted the thread last night, even with more people voting. Interesting lol.

We like Ellen's. It does not seem like 45 min when you are on it. We go on it every trip. If you have never been on it then you should try it at least once.

Ellens energy adventure would be more fun if it wasn't so long. It seems a lot of the movies are Ellen making a fool of herself losing on Jeopardy. Is there some reason the show must be 45 minutes? I also saw that the original Universe of Energy had interactive exhibits at the "communicore" about energy and now its not there. I would have liked to see that. Oh, and it does have wrong answers, for example they did not have fracking for natural gas back then.

See, this is pretty much my thought. I don't see the need for it to be so long (I'm sure I might feel differently if I was spending an entire day in that part of the park and wanted to escape the heat for 45 minutes lol). Also, I watched the first part of the 35 minutes worth of show that I found on Touring Plans, and the first three minutes had me bored senseless. If it's mostly that kind of thing, with a little splash of AA dinosaurs thrown in, we may not be overly upset if we miss it.

Then again, I still say that it might be a good option for between eats and drinks while we're enjoying the World Showcase... especially since it'll still be pretty warm when we get to Epcot that day (probably around 4 pm). ;)

The aquarium part is, pretty much, at the exit of the ride, correct?

The way I look at it, it's more the other way around. The ride is at the entrance to the aquarium. And actually you can skip the ride and just walk in with no line. This isn't a simple post-show exhibit like at Test Track, MS, and Spaceship Earth. It's the main attraction in my opinion. And my opinion isn't out of line with others'. It's crowded in there.

I am puzzled about why so long too. I thought it might have something to do with timing for a lot of people to load and unload from the theatre(s) but Carosel of Progress has large auditoriums too and it doesn't take nearly as long. It seems as though through the show there are a lot of times when the "cars" are not moving at all and all we see is Ellen making a fool of herself - which I don't find all that entertaining.

Maybe the best thing that could happen to an energy adventure is to move it. I thought the dinosaur exhibit and even the energy theme would be a better fit for Animal Kingdom. Of course that brings up what do you do with another empty building at Epcot....

Very cool. Thanks!

Yeah... from everything I'm reading, that seems to be the challenge at Epcot. I could get into my theories as to why this is the case, but that's a whole other topic.

I like to interpret poll results (though I have no professional qualifications to do so). I noticed yes and no were about even at first, but now yes leads two to one. My guess is that after a while, only people interested in EEE are visiting this thread, so you get skewed results. So maybe opinions are more split evenly on the ride. But it also means those who like it have strong opinion. What that means for whether you should give it a try is up to you. I think it means you should, because you might really like it, but if you don't, you can give it a pass next time.

Fun fact: That's not a T-Rex.

A. It's got three fingers. T-Rex only had two.
B. He's about to munch down on a Stegosaurus. Stegos lived in the Jurassic period. T-Rex lived in the Late Cretaceous. There is actually more time between Stegosaurus and T.Rex than T.Rex and sapiens....Rexy lived 89 million years after Steggs, while we humans came 65 million years after Rexy.

Which means that our ferocious friend there is actually...an Allosaurus.

Meh. I've taken enough statistics courses to know how to read results on something like this, but I don't think there will be anywhere near enough data for this poll to be even close to scientific haha. Interpret away, my friend.

Actually, the "no's" are catching up to the "yeses". It was pretty much 2 to 1, and now those figures are slowly morphing. From what I'm seeing, there are people on both sides who feel strongly either way. I don't have to make a decision about this tonight, next week, or even next month... so for now I'll just sit back and keep an eye on the poll ;)

Edited: now it's back to being pretty much 2 to 1 again. Hmm...

Well, I've been playing around on Touring Plans, and using their free tools I was able to put together a basic itenerary for that day. I made a point to say that we would get there at 11, even though I plan to get there closer to 10, to allow for buffer time in case we're running late or the lines are a little longer for some reason. The things I figure we definitely want to do are TT, Soarin', Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, Maelstrom, The Three Caballeros, The Seas with Nemo, Sum of all Thrills, and Figment (this one is mainly for my curiosity because I remember the original ride from my childhood and want to compare lol). Anything else that we should probably add to that list?

Actually, I can think of 2 to skip and do at Magic Kingdom: Pirates of the Carribean has less of a drop but IMO is a much better themed ride than Maelstrom. In the Mexico ride, Donald Duck is REALLY annoying, you might as well go through Its a Small World multiple times and be less annoyed. Perhaps Figment is less smelly than Stitch's Great Escape?

Lol... I'm definitely not missing out on Pirates or Small World regardless of what I do at Epcot ;)

Maelstrom and Mexico are definitely on my list of things we might wait and to while touring World Showcase... maybe they'll be more interesting if I've had a drink? Lol... but since they are in World Showcase and appear to be open all evening during EMH, I figure those are an easy fit for that second trip to Epcot.

Just don't tell that to the Disney animators who did The Rite of Spring from Fantasia where this is a tribute to...;) And the Same scene is at Disneyland on the Train.
