Ellen's Energy Adventure?

Is Ellen's Energy Adventure worth the length of the ride for two young adults?

Yeah... I wanted to type more earlier but was responding from my phone lol.

Hopefully I can talk him into just hopping on the monorail and going straight to MK from Epcot! I don't think we'll be as messy after being at Epcot all morning as we would if we had been at, say, MK or HS anyway... or for that matter, even AK. Then we would have more time at FW...

I'm also kinda hoping I can talk him into hitting up a few rides after dinner or staying long enough to watch some fireworks before we head back to the room. Our ADR's are for 6:05 (I'm trying to snag a later time, but I'm certainly not giving up what I have just because I wish it was an hour or two later!), and Touring Plans has that day listed as a 5 at both Epcot and MK, so it would be pretty much the best of both worlds as far as making the most of that day on our trip.

I hadn't even thought of the idea of going back to the room before dinner for that particular ADR until he said something about it... sigh... lol.
You might be able to get something later. I had this ridiculous 4:40 reservation in January. Then about a month before we went something popped up at 8. I grabbed it. You have to just keep checking; something could pop up. But with your time, you should be able to hit a few things on the way in. And then you can watch fireworks, or hit something right before the parks closes.

Yeah, that's what I'm figuring :) Either way it'll be a great day... it would just really loosen things up a little more if that ADR had been an hour later lol.

Well, we never did find out why the Energy Adventure takes so long. There must be some explanation as a shorter ride would mean more guest capacity and I cant' imagine Disney would want less guest capacity.

We must be skanky people because once we're out we're out. We wouldn't consider going for a shower until we're back at the hotel at the end of the day. We must stink ;)

Is it worth the 45m? Depends. The original UoE was much better, and definitely worth it. EEA? Eh, not so much. Unless of course, you're looking for a relaxing 45m chill in the A/C and/or a nap. Then it's worth the wait in gold. ;)

I would not head back to your room to shower between, not unless it was a case of you staying in an Epcot resort and walking back. You could waste A LOT of time doing that. I'd understand it more for someplace like Yachtmans, but for BOG? Trust me, everyone will be hot and sweaty. ;) You could throw a change of clothes in a backpack and some washcloths, and use the handicapped stall to wipe down. Many of them have sinks. So instead of having an hour each way (once to your room and once to MK) plus however long it takes you to shower, you'd have an hour over to MK from Epcot.

As far as Ellen's Energy Adventure, maybe if you get caught in a thunderstorm and need to wait it out. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it. It's no a must do, especially if you are short on time.

So, DH and I were talking about our plans the day of our BoG ADR's last night. I told him that people here told me that going back to the room to freshen up would take three hours out of our day unless we wanted to drive to Epcot. At that, he immediately said, "well, why don't we just go straight to dinner from Epcot? I'm sure we won't be the only sweaty people there!" :banghead:

So, at least now he thinks that NOT going back to the room was his idea. If I had been the one to actually say it, he would have acted repulsed and said that we need to look nice for dinner blah blah blah...

Sigh... men. :hilarious:

Okay... now I really am driving myself crazy lol!

@ToyStorygirl I remember you saying that you spend half a day at the World Showcase... I just made the mistake of playing with the World Showcase in Touring Plans, and what I'm getting back is saying that I wouldn't get to everything in six hours, which I figure should count as a half a day... is that accurate? Should we realistically be trying to get to every. single. thing. at World Showcase? I had envisioned that as being more of a "casually strolling around the pavilions and taking in whatever we see fit" kinda thing lol... now I'm rethinking. DH is somewhat of a history buff, so he might get into the World Showcase more than I'm anticipating.
Half a day at WS is for people who are looking to not focus on non-attractions for awhile. If I have park hopper and the day elsewhere is getting stressful and I know things won't improve after a break at the hotel, I switch to WS.

If you like to wander around locations, popping into places to try different food and drinks, shop, and go crazy with photography then you can spend a half day there. If you want rides, rides, rides then you can just breeze through rather quickly.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I always feared of the final affect if Disney would ever upgrade this ride.....

Heading for the great escape.
Its a great ecological statement, it allows guests to actively participate in saving energy by providing a cool comfortable environment for some combat ZZZZZZZZs.

I like it. But unless you're not into energy, Jeopardy, dinosaurs, or 1990's, I'd say skip it.

I love the idea of an Energy Pavilion. However this is the only ride or attraction that is full of lies. Oil and gas are no longer in short supply. The United States is now the largest producer of natural gas and will soon be the largest producer of oil. In fact if the Federal Government would just get out of the way the United States can be the world's largest net exporter of energy. That is a story worth telling. We could actually start with the end of the current show saying how we are running out of everything and show how and why with imagination we can solve any and all problems. Disney used to highlight American Business and that is the idea behind Epcot, to showcase what our businesses can do.
