Ellen's Energy Adventure

Has anyone every ridden Ellen's Energy Adventure at Epcot? What is it

like?

Ok, let me laugh just a little... not to be mean, but it's the wording - asking if anyone on a Disney fan site has ridden one of the attractions.

Anyway, it's ok. It's a bit dated (Bill Nye the Science Guy) and out of touch with our current energy issues. But it's also 45 minutes of AC. DO NOT take small infants/toddlers on this ride as there's no escape once you're in the ride vehicle and 45 minutes can be a long time for a small child.

It's one of those attractions you visit when you're really exhausted and want to relax in AC for 45 minutes. Plus, it's pretty entertaining too. :)

It is a long ride and ^ is right that once you get on, you can't get off. It's alot of video watching, but there is a section in the middle that has the animatronic dinosaurs that is very cool. I wish that part was longer and you didn't have to watch all the video stuff to go with it;)

My (at the time) 10-month pregnant wife loved this ride on our last trip. :)

While it's a little outdated now, it's still quite an entertaining ride about energy. And yup, the dinosaur part is neat. I always loved this area as a kid, and while as an adult I know they aren't real (or are they?!), it gives me that "I'm in DISNEY WORLD!" feeling every time.

I can pretty much sum this up in one word....... BORING!!!

Hope I don't offend anyone but I couldn't wait to get out of there. 45 minutes is way too long for something like that at Disney.

P.S. It has nothing to do with Ellen... I love her and think she is one of the funniest people around.

It's a dinosaur ride, once you get past the long pre show.
You are in vehicles similar to those at the Great Movie Ride.
You and Ellen go through places where dinosaurs are.

Very tame compared to the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom.

Right, Ellen is simply your host and goes on an adventure with Bill Nye the Science Guy to learn about Energy. So you hear/see them a lot throughout the ride talking about Energy.
Once you see the whole story, it all makes sense.

Sure, it's not for everyone because it's a slow non-thrill ride (where you might actually learn something *gasp*).

Just make sure nobody in your party has to use the restroom before you go inside the pavilion. 'Cause it is a long ride. There is a restroom really close though. I think the ride came out before Ellen did, LOL. I rather enjoy the ride, even the Jeopardy pre-show part, but it's not at the top of my list nor would I miss it. It takes me back to old school Epcot, where you learned while riding.

It's definitely not a thrill ride. It's also kind of tucked away with the deserted Wonders of Life pavilion in no man's land. If it's about to rain real hard or you're really hot and tired, you may consider going there. But again, with it being tucked away and rather close to the entrance, if either of those above scenarios presented themselves, some would either just leave the park or dip into innoventions east.

More ellen!? Just gonna say I politely disagree there :)

Its definitely worth a visit. The pre-show is probably the worst as your standing and its not very entertaining. The actual ride part is good and well done. The post show movie is cool....screens are massive and I enjoyed it more. And like others have said, extremely tame and slow moving.

Some might say im crazy, but I thought the pre-Ellen was far superior. I liked the serious tone of the movies before.

I was on it when it broke down! We got in the ride vehicle and started past the dino's and they just went limp. And the ride just stopped. It was very sad. About 5 minutes went by and the lights came on, wow! that place is huge!! Anyway, some guy who looked just like Bob the Builder popped outta nowhere and started yelling for everyone to leave. As it was only him there, people started walking all over the place which made him yell louder and pointing to the exits. It was actually pretty fun! Anyways, forget the doubters, its a fun ride!

Your wife was 10 months pregnant?! OUCH!!:D I agree with you, though, nolatron...outdated although it brings back fond childhood memories (mostly of my older brother cowering in fear of all the dinosaurs!). It is a nice place to take a nap!! I say give it a chance, even just once.

45 minutes is a lot to ask - I guess they developed this show back when Americans had attention spans.

Energy

HA HA yes it is one of those dated rides and it is not a thrill ride etc. and yet every trip i look forward to riding it... some because it is HOT outside and a long AC ride is a nice relief but also because my wife ALWAYS was sort of a bad rider on it... meaning she would act up or misbehave that I and our kids would see but no one else so she was never disruptive to others on it but just good memories of her when she was alive...

with that said it is dated... HOW DATED YOU ASK ---- welllllll funny i saw the movie THE FOG (the original not the remake) the other night and between the FOG and ENERGY and now the yogurt commercials you can see the aging of Jamie Lee Curtis (from young late teen/early 20 in THE FOG to her early 30's as the Jeopardy nemesis to Ellen on ENERGY and to the gray haired yogurt eater).

SO YES it is dated but still it is enjoyable. it probably does need a makeover but i hope they never scrape it the way they did Horizons.
