Ellen needs to become prehistoric, in other words GONE!

I think that some people on this board are missing the obvious. Most people that visit Disney World do not live in the Orlando area. I saw a stat about 6 years ago that said the average family visiting Disney saves for the trip for 10 years. That seems a bit much but I have been saving for about 2 years and we are still 6 months from going. My point is that Disney can not replace or update every attraction every few years. This is especially a problem in Future World because anything that they create now that has to do with the future would be outdated relatively quickly. I personally like EoE. I have only seen it 1 time though. If I had seen it 10 or 20 times then I would probably think it was a tired attraction and needed to be updated also but 90% of the people that visit have only seen it a few times if they have seen it at all. I'm just happy that all 4 parks have an e-ticket attraction being built. Leave EoE alone.

Why does a talk show have to be on prime time? Im not saying that any others are. Im saying she's not on prime time TV, period.

As many kids that have heard her voice in Nemo, I bet not many school aged kids outside of high school could tell you who she is. Sure some would but my point is, she's not a massive star that I feel would be devastating to lose in the show.

I just hate the whole pre-show to being with. Even the science guy.

I know you are stuck on the notion that we are attacking homosexuals. That has nothing to do with it. We all have our opinion, but, I think saying we're attacking homosexuals is just not right in this case as we all have been civilized.

I remember the old UoE and that as much as I loved seeing the dinos, I just couldn't stand the freakin' movie at the end. It was one of the most painful experiences at EPCOT. I went down in August for the first time in close to a decade and I still didn't go on it because of how it used to be. This last trip I went down, in February, we finally decided to go on it and we actually enjoyed it. I really didn't mind it all that much, and I thought it was better overall than the original version. My kids(4 and 7) enjoyed it too and they want to go back on it next time we go down. I'm sure after about 15 or 20 times, I would probably get tired of it, but since I was only on it the one time, I think I can deal with it a few more times.

I don't remember much of the attraction pre-Ellen (except for the Dino parts)....but she does make the attraction a bit more entertaining...and in many ways more memorable...

That being said...I haven't been on UoE in more than a year...its too long I think....just my opinion...

One more thing: What time is her show on TV? What time is Prime Time TV? Thank you. Oh yeah.......genius.

What does that have to do with anything? Maybe if you were also a genius, as you are so fond of reminding others that I am, you would be aware of the fact that audiences are trending away from primetime television in scores. Primetime has less and less to do with when people tune in the most, but is rather a name that will forever refer to a certain time slot.

Well I don't exactly dislike things I don't agree with. So no, they dont have any effect on me liking the attraction to a point.

I love the dinosaur part of the ride. i just wish someone else could do the show other than Ellen and even the science guy. I dont like the length of the movies.

Oh, and no I definately don't believe in evolution but I love the idea of the ride. I just wish is had more dinosaurs and less pre-show.

We all have our philosophies though I guess.

Yea I think the ride is flawed to a point in length and the organization of the content...more Dinos would risk the attraction looking like Dinosaur...perhaps other parts depicted in the movies can be shown as actual scenes with AAs...maybe even make a moving 3-D attraction....I think that after WoL...UoE should get a major update....maybe with Ellen...I don't mind her...don't think it should be a thrill ride, or a snooze fest either...

I think the best way to judge the attractions that need work is to watch the Disney faithful and see which one's they visit and which one's they dont.

Sure I have been alot but some just keep me having fun and some are just out right boring.

I have been alot and in the last 3 years I've only done UOE once. It just doens't draw me at all. Yet Spaceship Earth does. It's just the atmosphere and love of the ride.

I think that many like the ride but don't love the ride.

I agree.

I personally have always like the show-ride-show nature of UoE. The pacing is what needs help. With current technology (as mentioned above, the moving 3D a la Spiderman, could be extremely well utilized. The building is moderate in size, so it should be able to house something substantial.

I've read several posts that call the energy pavilion into question. I can see their point. I feel like the concept is sort of touched upon in other epcot rides. You could talk about fuel efficient cars with Test Track. You have Oil in Maelstrom... It just doesn't seem to warrant it's own pavilion at times. And seeing as there are major pushes to alternative energy of late, any major overhaul of the current pavilion runs the risk of being totally out of date in a few years.

So, I agree... work on the life pavilion first. Not much is more primary and important than life and health. To have this be one of EPCOTS lowest points is just a shame.

Good point...but again I think the length of UoE is a major negative for the attraction, especially a big neg for the re-ride factor.....

True, but I wouldnt mind length if I wasnt bored for half of the time. Like SE is long but even though the scenes become boring, just the uniqueness of the attraction makes it fun. It's one of those rides that even if you don't think it's exciting anymore, you miss it and want to ride it when you go. UOE is not that.

I do think it's too long if it's going to stay the way it is now. I think it should be geared less towards education of any sort and more towards the entertainment.

Very true. But think of it this way... it locks up a few hundred people at a time so that the rest of us can ride the other attractions!! It's like a prison for the uninitiated!

Well when you put it that way, maybe it isn't all that bad after all...I've never thought of it that way...so maybe thats another reason why M:S has a short wait....

It's too long because interest wears off. If it was better, it wouldn't be too long. It's hardly about energy per se anyways, more about fuel. I think it would be cool if they turned it into something based on geology. That really is what many of the petroleum companies are in anyway - the study of the earth and earth's history.

I love this ride!

"Wow, I'm amazed at some of the stupid comments on this thread...

As for Ellen's popularity, she is HUGE right now with her talk show which has fantastic ratings and won an emmy."

You're completely right! She's extremely popular right now.

Ok, I don't know why people don't like this attraction. Ellen is hilarious, especially in the preshow. Although some of the info is a bit outdated or glossed over, its still informative without being preachy. And the whole moving theatre and the cross between the theatre and what's actually going on in the screen, I love it!

I really don't like the ride but her new show is the #1 Rated Talk Show on television. So, Yeah, people actually watch the show.:hammer:
