Electrical Water Pageant *LITE*

While watching the Electrical Water Pageant the other night I noticed that several of the floats are missing.

Once the turtle lit up, they played the music for the octopus but it did not light up. Then the patriotic finale began. They totally skipped the octopus, aligator, dinosaur, and King Triton!

Does anyone know if this was just a temporary thing? Or were the other barges damaged in the hurricane? Hopefully they will be returned to service soon!

I think the canal is between Grand Floridian and MK, you can see right down it and see the floats from the monorail...

This is correct. If you are on the Express monorail from MK to TTC watch out the side of the train toward the trees. About halfway to the Grand Floridian, you'll see a canal entering Seven Seas Lagoon. As you pass that canal, you'll see all of the Water Pageant boats docked in a line on the right a few hundred yard up that canal. The location they are docked at is actually right behind Pirates of the Caribbean and Spash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom.

Was at WDW this weekend. Went on a private fireworks boat cruise to celebrate a friend's wedding. The boat driver/guide told us that the missing barges were damaged during the hurricanes. We saw the truncated show from about 50 yards away. Cool!

The assembly and changing area for visiting marching bands as a part of Magic Music Days is immediately right of frame. As a result, I was able to get a nice, up close look at the EWP barges. Unfortunately, I think I was about the only one in the group that knew what they were. If I remember correctly, the central panel that has all of the lights on it is essentially a big panel of chain link fence material. And, yes, this is behind Splash and Pirates. In between (more or less) is parade float storage.

I can confirm this, the barges that are missing were heavily damaged during Jeanne.

I can confirm that this is due to damage from Charley. About two days after the hurricane I rode the monorail a couple of times to see the damage. One of the barges was completely flattened as if a tree had fallen on it.

The barges that were damaged during Charlie were repaired and the show was back at full strings. The barges suffered no damage during Frances. Several barges suffered major damage during Jeanne.

The pageant started about 20 minutes before "Wishes" behind the island in front of MK - between the Island and the Transportation & Ticket Center. It did the show for the Magical Gatherings Fireworks cruises and then those boats and all of the other personal fireworks cruise boats went around the island to in front of MK to watch "Wishes". After Wishes the Electrical Water Paegeant barges goes to each hotel on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake and performs the show.

A bit of trivia from our boat captian - the Electrical Water Pageant has been done almost from the beginning of WDW. I remember seeing it in 1977 when my wife and I was on our honeymoon at the Polynesian Resort.

I knew there was somthing different 2 weeks ago. I was walking down the stairs from the Contemp's 2nd Floor outside, and it was just starting, and by the time I got to the waterfront it was ending (~3 minutes). I was suprised.
