I didn't see this posted yet, but according to Instagram Owl City is working on Disney's New Electrical Parade.

Is a worthy replacement for MSEP finally on the way?

Nope, they worked on Paint the Night for HKDL/DL. WDW ain't gonna get the budget for a new light parade! Guests LOVE the MSEP! THEY LOVE IT!

I really enjoy it, but I've only been seeing it for 5 years, not 37, like many others here.
So I certainly understand why many would love to see a change.
Most guests only VISIT every five years, so "seeing it for five years," to them, is seeing it once. Criticism of MSEP on this board is largely driven by a disconnect between Disneyphiles (us) and "regular" guests. The constant need for things to be "new and fresh" is magnified if you're at WDW all the time. If you only visit every five years, everything is new and fresh by default.

It's the same mentality that leads to people calling DHS a half day park. DHS is only a half day park if you skip some combination of Mermaid, BatB, LMA, Idol/Frozen, Indiana Jones, Magic of Disney Animation / Animation Academy, Disney Junior, and One Man's Dream. For the average guest who's only been a couple of times in his/her life, he/she is much more likely to do all of those attractions than a frequent guest who has seen them all dozens of times and can get through DHS by doing Tower, RnRC, Star Tours, and Toy Story.

You guys are telling me you are willing to part with these wonderful, skipping patriots?

I see your points but that doesn't justify a park becoming stagnant.

People don't like stagnation but they complain just as much when "classics" are removed. It's a catch-22. The only way to keep people around here from complaining would be constant expansion.

I can't disagree with that.

But I think being so unsure/unwilling of change also has to do with the fact that those changes aren't always more impressive or better. And they should be but it's all a matter of opinion I suppose.

I was being sarcastic, but Disney has a boatload of surveys they've "conducted" that prove guests love the MSEP, just like they love everything else Disney does. Those surveys are nothing short of magical!
We did similar surveys at the ballpark I used to work at and were always told (when we questioned something) that fans "love this and demand it" We were still bottom of the league in attendance. It's amazing how corporates can manipulate data and bs, yet still survive.
