I've read about the rehab of El Rio De Tiempo to somehow add the Three Callberos (I apoligize if that's mispelled). Is there any sight of walls or anything in the pavillion?

But since people that have seen the movie with them it would be kinda difficult for younger kids to get it...I'm surprised that they didn't go the other way an add the Characters of Emporoer's New Groove to the attraction...Seems to fit...sorta...:lookaroun

Ummm.... Emperor's New Groove was Incan. Inca was in Peru. Just a little bit away from Mexico. :animwink:
But true, most of the general public probably doesn't differentiate between the Incan and Mayan civilizations (which *was* in parts of Mexico).

I've been in the Mexico Pavilion after it closed, and I will tell you there are rehab walls up blocking the entrance and exit, as well as along the back side of the restraunt. The Prymid and Volcano are still visible and working, but the water itself cannot be seen from anywhere insde the building. They have replaced the sign outside the pavilion to say Mexico is still open, however El Rio is under rehab. Many people missed that on the way in and there was much confusion inside as to where the entrance is.

That's all I know on the attraction at this point.

I think Mel Gibson should be in charge of the refurbishment... He can make great Mayan drama!

Mel makes better drama in Police stations than he does on film... the most one-dimensional actor other than Tom Cruise in movies. :hurl:

yeah, gotta say emperors grove doesnt fit, as much as I would like it to. Three Cabs fit great, plus its one of my very favorite movies!... only problem is I don't think the younger generation will get them.... then again this is a generation where if something is animated they probably will watch it no matter what it is.... maybe there are plans to reintroduce the three cabs in some way... DVD re-release maybe? .... too bad my favorite scene is the one in Brazil with The cookie lady, i always loved the song that went with that... anyway we probalby wont see that in the ride though... probably nothing more than a little character introduction.

As Disney is the King of cross-promotion/synergy, I'm sure that they have some tricks up their sleeve to get the 3 Cabs back into the public eye.

Yes.

I understand they plan to have the 3 Cab characters all standing in a row for meet 'n greet pictures... and then have them "accidently" hit teenagers on the head.
