El Pirata y el Perico

There is a Moe's at the corner of Sand Lake and Dr. Phillips or at least in the plaza, I love the close talker and the salsa there is great plus the free fresh chips. Chipolte is Great Also (naturally raised meat, whatever that means) and also Tijuana Flats is a local restuarant that has taco's. I still would chose The El Pirata y el Perico because I would be eating in the Magic Kingdom.

I've heard the Taco Maker opened a spot near the Target off of I-4 and US27 (exit for Davenport, Clermont and Haines City). Don Pablos is a sit down restaurant off of International Blvd.

Ack! I'm not ever letting you take me out to lunch! ;)

Taco Maker is uninspired and not good at all, below Taco Bell if that means anything to you. Definitely not worth a trip there.

I've always found Don Pablos to be bland and dry, no wonder many of their restaurants around town closed. I'll take Chevy's at CrossRoads over Don Pablo's anyday, minus all the children screaming because they are tired and overstimulated at the same time and they can't wait to get back to the parks, skipping their much needed nap time.

Tijuana Flats is a decent local chain, their soft tacos in particular are filling and good.

I've never had good Mexican on property.

I've never had good Mexican on property.

San Angel Inn was quite good (more authentic than the bland fare now offered) back in the 1980s. When they started serving Tostitos and jar salsa instead of their own I decided the Walmarting was too much and ceased dining there.

The best Mexican on property was a place called Juan and Onlys at the Dolphin Hotel. They also had phenomenal margaritas. The place has been gone for at least a decade now.

No, it's supposed to be Mexican. But it isn't always. And sometimes - besides during the Pecos refurb - they open it for a few hours a day at lunch time and ONLY offer the three entree menu of a burger, chicken nuggets or a pulled pork sandwich. In fact, the menus often show that when you walk by even when they're closed.

OK then, if that is what you want to believe. But I think that 10 years as a cast member at that particular location gives me an advantage on knowing the offering better.

The question was is the El Pirate open in Dec NOT, NOT is Del taco Don Juan..... If the poster is like any of us we are not leaving the property for a taco or getting a cab to get a taco.. It has never been open in Dec when we go the first part. I was hoping so if we should choose to try it. But it isn't a must that we have a taco while we are there. Seems we cannot even ask something that it doesn't lead to a food fight over what is good nor no good. Taco bell is a consistant Taco for anyone not in their own elements and their own towns. At least you know what they will taste like yourself, not one someone else says. What about Cantina de san angel they ahve tacos i think.....
NOT SAN ANGEL INN :hurl:

I never knew this restaurant had such a great patio. I can't believe that this restaurant does not operate more often since its menu is unique to the park. I wonder how opening up a new counter service and new full service restaurant in FL during the make over will effect the operation of these seasonal restaurants?

Apparently I'm not the only one who feels that way about Taco Maker, as they've closed the ones on 535 and Turkey Lake.
