Can anyone of our house WDW cast members confirm or deny this. I got htis information from another WDW fan site. I will not be affected by this as no one in my family uses these but just wanted to know if it were true and start some conversation.

"We just returned on Saturday from a stay at Port Orleans. While there my mother rented a scooter from an outside vendor, the largest one they have. While there we were notified by several bus drivers that effective October 1, those type and sizes of scooters wouldn't be allowed on Disney transportation. My uncle works part time for Disney and he confirmed this information."

Yeah, the nerve of people bringing kids and strollers to WDW! Maybe we should limit people to one (polite and quiet) child and one small stroller per family.

Is this for a particular make of ECV, or all scooters from outside vendors?

i dont get why they dont just have some transportation specifcally for these people, all other cities do. Would help the lines, ease tempers, and those with special needs wouldnt have to put up with us people who wait in line. Just because you have a scooter doesnt mean you cant wait. simply put, Give a number of buses just for this need and alleviate all the hassle.

It sounds like the extra large ECV's are the one being banned.

Well, if that's the case (and I have no idea whether it is or not), I'm sure there will eventually be a more official statement either from Disney or the outside companies regarding this particular size of ECV.....

Have you SEEN some strollers these days? Some of them are literally the size of shopping carts.

Fair Warning, I will be down at Disney World from October 1st to the 5th with a double stroller for my two sons. So you may want to make alternate plans now!

I have to admit we had a large stroller at one time, we have tried to downsize the stroller as the kids got older, it is a necessary evil. This thread was meant to start bashing strollers that is a whole other thread.

Can your children walk? I am all for strollers if they are absolutely needed but part of going to a theme park is to do some walking. :) And as far as electric scooters go, some people cold never go to the parks without them. They are fine IMO. However, I do get angry when one jumps in the front and takes up half of the bus causing me to wait for another.

My 3 year old will walk for a bit but not all day like we do. She likes to sit down and relax between some of the rides and she also takes a little snooze in her stroller while waiting for the older kids to ride their rides. So yes we walk and we use a stroller as well, why cant we all just get along. Just be a decent human when using a stroller and say sorry if u hit someone.

No, it's the nerve of people who think they own the place. Like taking up 5 seats on a bus for only 3 people (2 parents, 1 child, and one MASSIVE stroller that takes up 2 seats). Just plain rude.

Strollers and double strollers are fine. But don't bring one of these beasts to the parks:

They're too big to be taken around a park, yet people do it. And thats not even a good example, I've seen strollers even bigger than that.

Excellent idea. I'm so glad you came up with this idea.

After waiting for a bus to take us back to Fort Wilderness in August the scooter people would zoom up and get right on , how is that fair ? I would like to scooter around the EPCOT too . Its not challenged people who are on them , why do people ride on them , a congestive heart failure ? overweight ? a walk may do some good . My 9 year old has a heart problem and we have to keep up with her , and yet we dont get head of line privilege on getting on a bus . Yet the same people on scooters are downing a bacon double cheeseburger at Cosmic Rays with a Large coke and fries and a brownie for desert .
People with little ones on strollers dont get to be first on the bus , Just my two cents ....:hammer:
