The scooters issue is one thing. And if you're lacking the empathy, try this... Trade anyone who NEEDS a scooter the use of your legs for their scooter space. Now having said that, i have witnessed the following on 2 occasions at the world in the past 10 years (obviously a small sample size):

A guy on a scooter gets into the bus and sits on the scooter. the scooter is misaligned or sticking out a bit in the walkway. He proceeds to stick out his legs, touching the floor (so hes straddling the scooter) and then LIFTS it and moves it over a bit to adjust its position.

Now im not saying there are not conditions that a person can have their strength but perhaps not stamina in their legs or heart to do a lot of walking, but dang that raises an eyebrow at least IMO.

As far as the strollers, its a constant battle. Many a couple it seems thinks the planet needs to revolve around their unique and delicate little flower. People having been giving birth for long time. get over yourself. these are generally the baby on board sign people (its not everyone, i do like children). I acknowledge that strollers are a necessity but seriously. i got racked in the knee real good by some business casual doofus trying to get his eddie bauer super deluxe stroller into the seat area in the back of one of the buses a year or two ago.

so along with my complaint i offer a suggestion: I think disney should employ a tactic that ski resorts use. They place cages on the sides of the buses to put people's skis so they dont drag them on the buses and kill each other. i think the same idea could be done with strollers. the thing might bounce around a bit but i find this a simple and accommodating compromise. there could be a minute or 2 delay getting them in or out but that beats needing to wait for another bus if a few more people can get on board.

This type of obnoxious, massive, mega-stroller versus this type of small, collapsible, polite stroller...
:D

suprised you didnt notice the obvious flaw between your 2 pictures. in the first there are 2 children, the second would only take one therefore you would need 2 of the second one

The purpose of the strollers isn't just to not make kids walk. When I was little we would be 20 people, half of us were kids and our parents rented strollers for all of us so it wouldn't take forever to go from one ride to the other. When you go to the parks with kids it's always smarter to have strollers rather than listening to the kids cry and complain about being too tired, or watching them literally refuse to walk anymore (my sister did that). Strollers take much space but they save much time also. The parks are too big and it's not fair for kids to have to walk all day long. people just need to understand this and be more tolerant.
:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Sorry if kids are tired, crying and having melt downs then they need to be removed from the situation and given a chance to rest and get a hold of themselves. I assuming from your comments 12 so I am not sure you should be giving parenting advice. IF you are 7 and older with no type of disability your butt needs to walk and if you get tired than your parents should start acting like parents and give you every opportunity to rest so that you enjoy your trip and so can they . My 8 year old would die if I told her she had to ride in stroller so we could save time and pack in the fun !!!!

just out of curiosity how do you (korfar) decides who needs one or not.

thank you for purposely trying to steer this thread down that road... I guess someone just HAD to go there.

we all know that some people don't NEED them but use them anyway. No one here is saying we are qualified to make the decision, but we all KNOW it happens.

If there's one thing these people on scooter's do that bugs me, it's when they get their scooter on the bus and then move from the scooter to another seat on the bus taking up a total of 4 seats. In fact when I was on a bus recently this very thing happened and someone just sat in this lady's scooter (it was a rental from an outside vendor) since it was an open seat. Naturally she got upset with him but he said it's an empty seat so why not? I personally wouldn't do something like this but I thought it was funny and good on that guy for doing it, especially when it's not her personal scooter :).

Since you don't know the rules (I consider you fortunate to not have the experience of traveling with someone who is handicapped.. or maybe misfortune, given your obvious ignorance), the bus drivers tell the person in the ECV to get off of it and sit in a normal seat. People are not allowed to sit in the ECV while the bus is moving, per the driver's instructions. Now, if rules don't apply to you, that's cool. Keep on being judgmental and ignorant.

LOL - Extremely entertaining thread...

Now everyone out of my parks!

he he he

Tolerance, acceptance, understanding and politeness goes a long way to creating more enjoyment for yourself and others while in the parks.

As for the large ECVs, hey if they don't fit, you can't bring them.

The large strollers, well... deal. I hate them too, but it's frackin' Disney World.

...now back to getting out my parks!

no thanks needed, merely pointing out you, or no one else knows if someone
has a real need or not, yet you come on here giving the impression that you do

That's odd, because I saw a young woman remaining in her ECV while it was strapped in on the bus just one month ago. The bus driver never told her to get up. And I've seen people remain on their ECV on many a Disney bus...

some drivers ask others dont, ECV's you are supposed to wheelchairs or powerchairs, ok to stay in them, for what its worth there are 2 types of scooters, 3 and 4 wheeled ones the 3 wheeled can tip while on a bus.
