They should tear down the Carousel of Progress

and rebuild a NEW, BIGGER building for it! They should keep all the old scenes and the revolving theater style and add new stages that show the future. They could make a scene where all the appliances are connected to the internet and the fridge senses that the milk is almost gone and orders another gallon over the internet. There's all kinds of cool things they can do.

I think the main problem is that they are out of room in the building. By building a bigger one, they would be able to expand and make the newer scenes and update the ride for the current times.

I've already said this before  ..and I think Dark Measures mentioned this too...

That wether the carousel of progress stay in tomorrowland or move to Epcot, it needs a bigger and better pavilion.

I'm talking about a brand new progressland pavilion.

With 3 levels. Museum on first level. Carousel of progress on second level. And Progress City with the skydome spectacular on the third level. If this can't be done for what ever reason, then they have to expand the carousel of progress.

They'll have to create a 9 theater attraction.

Theater One: Load
Theater Two: 1900
Theater Three: 1920
Theater Four: 1940
Theater Five: 1960
These first four original acts can be restored to look like they were originally at the 1964 world's fair. This is a big bonus for us nostalgia geeks.

Theater Six: 1980 [We already saw this ending from "now is the time", all they have to do is recreate the set, change it a little, and incorparate "beautiful tomorrow" rather than "now is the time".

Theater Seven: 2000 [Make this an entirely new set. Maybe just in the entertainment room with Rover, Father, Mother, Patty, and Jim. Make it realisitic, the way 2000 really was.

Theater Eight: "Tomorrow". Ok this is the ONLY SCENE THAT WILL EVER BE UPDATED. It will be a "bonus" ending. Showing us the already rapid progess of electricity in the 20th century, "tomorrow" ensures us the use of the theme song "there's a great big beautiful tomorrow". It will be based from Horizons with an Elderly Mother and Father and probably Rover jr.

Rememer folks the carousel family represents the idealistic all american family. Though we progress every 20 years or so. They only age about 2-3 years. We begin in 1900 with a young family. A daughter about 13-14. And a 9-10 year old son. In 2000 we have probably a college student, and high school senior.

Theater Nine: The unload theater. [BRING BACK THE KALEIDOPHONIC SCREENS!] :animwink:

I remember reading somewhere that Walt himself personally requested that, of all of the attractions at Walt Disney World, Carousel of Progress would NEVER be removed or replaced. You hear that? NOT the Enchanted Tiki Room. NOT Pirates of the Caribbean. NOT Dumbo the Flying Elephant. NOT EVEN its a small world! So while the Carousel may be totally taken down and rebuilt and upgraded, it will always be the Carousel of Progress. Whew.
