All the changes taken together, it becomes very clear that paid Individual Attraction Selections are a way to milk locals and off-site guests more than anyone else.
This is really a brilliant and interesting take...

Chapek indicated that the AP weren't as profitable to the resort guests. The strange thing is all of the perks for bubble guests aren't easily as visible (like 60 day FP or free MagicBands).

But this 2nd level thinking is sort of playing out in front of our eyes.

Still hate the DME cut, but I'm willing to see how MaxPass (er Genie+) plays out at WDW. It will be interesting if you're able to skip Genie+ if you're staying onsite and still have an excellent experience. I'm skeptical on that.

I think, long term, most onsite guests will pay the $15/day for Genie+ and rope drop the individual LL rides during early entry. Leave the $24 passes for off-site, who Disney is now punishing.

I doubt it will be most (in terms of rope dropping LL rides) -- if it is, the early entry perk disappears for most guests because you'd have 15,000 people showing up each morning.

I think Disney expects (or hopes for) many on-site guests to pay for LL as well because they know most don't rope drop. That's probably one of the reasons they're letting on-site guests purchase LL early: "Look how accommodating we are! You don't need to get up early, you can just buy your pass before anyone else has the option and guarantee a ride!"

Buying Genie+ doesn't guarantee a ride on everything though. Its like MaxPass at Disneyland. You may be able to get all of them or only some of them based on your return times. I WISH it guaranteed everything!!

Not Genie+ -- the individual attractions where you are guaranteed a spot when you pay (unless the ride breaks down or something) like Rise of the Resistance. Resort guests have the ability to buy those rides before the general public.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that! I thought it was like the previous paper FP system, only virtual. When they run out, they run out. So do we know if you have to select all your rides up front for your whole day or do you do them one at a time? (Like you ride BTMRR and then choose another ride and so on)

One at a time. "Next Available" is all they are showing at this point.

To clarify, that’s for the Genie+ rides.

For the individual attraction $$ rides onsite guests can schedule two of them at 7am, and you can pick your time. Offsite guests must wait until the park opens - not clear yet if you have to be in a park or not.
Maximum of 2 applies per day but can be in any park (assuming hoppers / APs).

I assumed she was talking about Genie+ since she was using Big Thunder in the example. Important clarification though if she was referring to IAS passes

Yes, I was talking about the Genie+. I knew about the IAS selections, I just wasn't sure if the Genie+ attractions had to all be planned in advance.
