I am still curious on how early entry will work. It is only 30 minutes before, I assume people will who aren't staying on site will still get to the parks early and be lined up. So how will they get people in who are staying on site in a timely manner so we can actually take advantage of the 30 min? Seems like it will end up just being a **** show
Same way they always did. Scan a MagicBand or Key to the World.

I think he has a point, though -- with the old EMH, it was always at least an hour early and sometimes two. People from off-site usually weren't showing up over an hour before opening time. With the window cut to 30 minutes, there will likely be significantly more overlap with off-site guests arriving and getting in line.

It's certainly not an insurmountable problem, but I could see it causing some extra headaches and potentially some angry people. Mainly at the Magic Kingdom, though.

Maybe they won't open the ticket booths till later? And force people to take Disney transport. This would be horrible... It will be a cluster. They need to have 2 sections after security so it's not just a mass of bodies.

How will that stop people from still getting in line? Say I am staying at a resort, I get there with 10 min before the 30 min starts and there is a line of 30+ people in front of me and 20 of them are not staying at a resort. They will have to scan all of their magic bands, probably double check there isn't an issue and it takes forever for me and other people behind me to get in and now we only have 15 minutes before everyone else can get in.
Now if they plan on starting to scan bands 15-30 minutes before the EMH begin it will make it easier.

I was curious about this too. How is this not going to be chaos? Will they really start this exactly October 1. Why not try before to work out kinks? Secretlly hoping they might do trials leading up to it as we leave the 30th of September. Well here is to hoping for low crowds. Cause everyone is not coming u til October 1 right?

We're now well into the 50th for extended evening hours dates, and still nothing for HS or AK. It really makes no sense for HS, all they have to do is excluded ROTR - it could really alleviate max capacity crowds during the holidays. We're traveling in December and would love to hop to HS late. This might be the most important park to offer the perk for, given the limited number of attractions and extreme demand during the day.

I really wanted AK evening hours. It really makes no sense for them to have magic kingdom since they are charging for after hours events. Seems counter productive.

I think you all are overthinking this. They did early entry for years. They’ve been doing it at other properties during the pandemic. It will be fine.

People are already getting there early for rope drop, I am not sure why you think it will be so simple when it will only be 30 min before opening. Aren't most people getting in almost an hour before official opening?

EMH would have separate lines for resort guests. Or those with pre park opening reservations for estaurants or tours. So they can have 3 lanes for resort guests and make everyone else wait in one line.

The Hub at MK will be tougher, since everyone congregates there.

As for everything the trick will be to not arrive 5 minutes before or after the extra hours start. Aim to be there 15-30 minutes earlier, the chances are they will start letting people in around then, even if rides aren’t up and running.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but, do F&W booths stay open during extended evening hours? I know they used to close them when there were evening extra magic hours.

I think he means crowd wise...IE your going to have to fight and wade through a bunch of people. That may think your trying to be rude or cut line or something. Even with the AP entrances i noticed this it was often hard to get through the crowd to the specific entry. To the point i began not using it at rope drop usually.

I can think of several simple solutions:

Scan cards or bands before security.
Scan cards or bands before entry.
or (and I think most likely) let everyone in with two sets of ropes. You need to show a band or pass to get past rope 1 and can do that before the early entry open. Then 30 min before official opening, rope 2 drops for the resort guests who got past the previous check.

It’s all four parks each morning. I’m not expecting a mob.

I think mk is the only park where it will be tough since entrance area...tbh sucks.

Open Main Street to all and have a check at the end of Main Street to restrict who gets to the bridges before 9 am. Again, I expect limited crowds. They are taking what was one morning EMH there and turning it into 7. First couple days may be messier because they are 10/1-2.
