Earfell Tower to be removed

RIP Earful Tower. Also, the way they are going, I'm starting to wonder if my last visit ever to DHS or whatever they are calling it now was this past June.

The icon should be Chinese Theater.
But that doesn't make any sense. It's large, it's centralized, it looks you square in the face once you enter the park, it's exterior design and interior attraction both represent movies, entertainment, and pretty much everything the park stands for....so obviously we must find something else to be the park's icon, as so many other people have stated in these sorts of discussions.

I like the Earffel tower but it serves no purpose in the revitalization of the park and the removal of the studio theme. I am Ok with it coming down.

Seeing that Monster's Inc's M&G closing. I wonder if they'd move it back to it's original spot across from Sci-Fi Dine in.

They will certainly add new M&Gs elsewhere.

All joking aside, I REALLY hope that they do this right. I hope it's "DCA right" - they really seemed to have fixed that park. It's still not Disneyland but the changes/additions were all good moves.

I hope that they put in Pixar Land and Star Wars Land and it's a crazy success and they think, "You know what? We ought to put in another movie-based land!" (and the park grows and isn't just some weird combination of "old Hollywood", Star Wars, and Pixar.

Put in Muppet Land. Give us Sesame Street. (if the contracts end) Put in Marvel Land.. DHS could be so rich with different, heavily-themed lands.

Put in Cartoon Land (old Disney characters)... Not Toon Town..

Yeah, they'd have to move the parking to do all of this but that can be done. Universal did it.. DHS really could be a great "I want to go there" theme park instead of, "Oh.. while we're here and since we have park hoppers..."

One thing I've thought of is that Star Wars and Pixar had better be over-the-top awesome. What you don't want to hear after all of this is, "Disney tried, but Universal got it right with Harry Potter..." What you want to hear is, "OMG! Harry Potter was pretty awesome but Disney totally topped it with Star Wars! It's INCREDIBLE!" They're not going to get that with New Fantasyland Style.

Sadly I think we will WISH it was as well done as NFL, With the house of cards known as ESPN falling apart the remaining domestic businesses will need to pick up the slack otherwise Mahogany Row in Burbank will not receive their 'performance bonuses'

I really feel like they should shut the whole park down for all of this...I just don't see how what's left over is justification enough for darn near $100 BUCKS...there's more to see at SeaWorld for pete's sake...

Not particularly sad about the tower..whatever classic Disney-MGM was there died with the Golden Girls house era of the park...The whole park has been dissappointing for a while now...so much that we skipped it altogether and went to Magic Kingdom an extra day...

Thankfully they won't close the whole park as I would be super mad if they took away access to attractions like ToT, Rockin rollercoaster, TSMM and star tours. Definitely still gonna fast pass over there to enjoy those as well as some of the shows for the kid.

But yeah, definitely wouldn't buy a 1 day ticket. That would be silly.

When I was 4 or 5, I had never been to Disney before in my life. My parents had my triplet brother and sister and me hop in the car and told us we were going on a trip. We were completely oblivious to where we were going. They kept it a secret until we drove past the tower and saw the ears for the first time. Well...we were freaking out. It's amazing that I still recollect that. Sad to see it be demolished...

Yeah man...our son was like...18 months when we went...so NO, not much good for most attractions...but we felt like there wasn't enough at the studios to do this last April when we were there to justify blowing one of our days on the ticket...I can't imagine NOW what it's gonna be like...just seems like it's just not enough...if they want to crack back the price a bit...that'd be cool.

Then I guess I'd gripe less...

Almost feels like this is an even BIGGER fix than DCA went under...lets call DCA cosmetic surgery...with some augmentation and a nose job...

This is like a full blown nose job, liposuction, reduction, tummy tuck, brow lift, laser hair-removal, and butt implants...and the park is gonna be sore for a while until all this heals...very, very sore...

How many people actually pay near $100 bucks to get in the park?
