Earfell Tower to be removed

Disney's Hollywood Adventure " step into your favorite films and relive the excitement, thrills, and fun" I love the streetmosphere characters as is, hopefully the new lands add their own flare of streetmosre. I'm curious what icon the icon will be for the park now.

Tower of Terror seems to be the "Icon" now. It's even on the MDE for the Studios.

I couldn't care less if this removed, it neither added or took away from my park experience. Lets be serious here, did anyone here REALLY look forward to see a tower from afar? Its not even an attraction.

When they first build Disney-MGM Studios The Earffel tower was pretty prominent along World Drive. You barely notice it any longer because of the trees - they've grown over the last 25 years.

You don't really notice it in the park, either. It's off in the back. The best place to see it was on the tour which is gone. You could kind of make it out along Hollywood Blvd as you entered the park but, again, it's not prominent.

It was neat but I don't think most people will notice it's removal (people here will, I'm talking about average guests).

I notice it when leaving the BATB theater or Fantasmic. It's staring right back at you.

Hate to see it go but I have been really hard on Disney over the last few years for lacking new attractions and just sitting around collecting increased admission prices. Would much rather have new places to explore than the cursory few second glance at the tower every trip before wishing there was something new to ride/experience. Probably best to move it toward the front of the park for nostalgia with the people spending the money looking to recapture the magic from years ago. Great to finally see things starting to get underway on these projects.

Wasn't there a water tower included in all of the concept art and models for Disney springs located in front of the new town center area?
Wouldn't this make sense if they are going to recover it from here that it could be positioned at springs now the transformation is progressing with its latter stages?

What will be the icon for Hollywood Studios once it's finally gone?

I hear they're going to build a full-sized Millennium Falcon just in front of the Chinese Theater. You'll be able to go inside and purchase Star Wars pins. Don't fret about the view because they're going to up time the stage is in there to 360 days/year so it'll be just like normal.

Seeing that Monster's Inc's M&G closing. I wonder if they'd move it back to it's original spot across from Sci-Fi Dine in.

It's weird to me that this is considered an "attraction" or even that it's news that it's closing. There are M&Gs everywhere. I know people like them but people like popcorn and you don't get notices when one of the popcorn stands are closing/moving, nor is it considered an attraction.

Yeah, I am. It's not a complete overhaul. It's an expansion.. What theme are they going for?

The plan is to get rid of essentially half the park and revamp or repurpose it in some way. Whether it is adding in new lands, or renovating restaurants, walk through attractions and possibly some shows. The only part they are not really touching is Sunset Blvd. I would consider that to be a complete overhaul.

The theme is no longer a working studio...but definitely about movies.
