DVC Member Lounge Coming to Imagination!

nice perk.. DVC should have more for the pillaging they set you up for.

Glad Disney is at least doing some things... the whole pavilion discussion shouldn't even really cross wires here. That bridge was crossed so long ago and clearly the old play areas were never coming back without a pavilion reboot (which will require a new sponsor).

LOL...Its all good. I'm never one to pull out the "I paid a lot of money..." schtick, but it is nice that they are at least recognizing members. Esp in the current state of cut backs and nickel-and-diming everyone. And trust me, you won't be able to walk up there without someone putting a brochure in your hand and asking if you were interested in adding on points.

And yes, you can bring up to 5 non DVC guests with you at a time. No need for a reservation or anything, just the member needs to show their ID card at the entrance and say you are guest. So, I was being honest, go to the DVC board and ask if anyone would mind taking you up with them if you are there at the same time.
I might have to have a friend take me up there... I'm not going 'til next September though :c
I remember when DVC was "the best kept Disney secret".... hahah.

Why does 'it hurt' and show a 'lack of imagination'?

again, I don't get the hate. Its a lounge....in an attic...that was not being used at all.

Its not like the disney board said:
"OK, lets take a vote....all those in favor of completely revitalizing the Imagination pavilion and return it to its former glory as well as add tons of brand new technology and guest experiences, raise your hand? ....Humm...no one? OK.
All those in favor of just putting some lounge up there for DVC members instead?.....1, 2,...3, 4....Ah, unanimous...OK motion passed, the lounge it is."

Seriously, the space was not being, nor had any plans on being used for normal guest attractions.

Hey as much as I paid for DVC and continue to pay for WDW vacations, the least Disney can do is give me a "free" soft drink and a place to charge my cell phone.

I don't think anyone would argue that DVC members don't deserve perks / lounges, etc. There should be rewards for joining. I believe the issue is that there are many who have fond memories of this location, and would like to see Disney take an interest in increasing satisfaction to all the guests not just DVC. So, it's not the issue a lounge was opened, I think it was more the issue of location that many perceive as a sign that they are no longer as interested in a guest if you're not paying for some form of upcharge/ membership etc. After all, even the "unwashed masses" (non-DVC) are still paying good money to vacation at Disney (some of us even stay in deluxe resorts). So that plus price of admission, it would be nice to once again feel like Disney cared about the average guest as much as they used to.

Whoa whoa whoa, take it easy comrade. You get the privilege of paying ever increasing maintenece fees, little to no discounts on food/merch/park tickets, and um? Other things!!! And now you want free soda?!?!?

The Image works everyone remembers is not in that particular area... And I am hoping every park gets a DVC lounge...why now, we pay enough for our memberships.

I beleive the new lounge is not in the same area as the old Image Works...as you remember, the old image works was in a much darker space...not the open glass pyramid. The displays could still be there in the other part of the building.
