DVC and Annual Passes

Greetings! I'm a DVC member since '02 but never had an Annual Pass.
Question is, how do I buy one(or two)? My plan was to get them for a trip in Oct. we've been planning for a while, but then all the madness happened, now they coming back, yeađź‘Ź
Do I have to get them through DVC, My Disney Experience, where? When the 8th gets here where/who do I call or what website do I visit? Any help is appreciated for this AP newbie. Thanks.
When I purchase mine, I always call DVC direct and go through them to be sure that I get the AP discount.

There isn't any discount on APs for DVC anymore. They just pay the Florida resident prices, and have access to buy the Sorcerer's Pass, instead of having to buy the IncrediPass, as that is the only option for non DVC out of state people.

…I don’t think a large percentage of DVC has caught on to this yet. Because many won’t start thinking AP till after the Turkey is carved and/or the gifts are open.

True. We bought ours the day that they were available, but won't be activating them until our March trip next year. When they added the statement that passes may not be available for purchase at times, we wanted to be sure to get ours. We opted for the Sorcerer's Pass, as we don't ever go during those blackout dates anyway, so works for us.

Yeah…I was gung ho to buy them as soon as they dropped…a week after I was last there…

but I just lost the urge.

also…I guess I never feared I’d be “locked out”. Different than Disneyland…how long are they “sold out” for? Since aps in Orlando are not used with the same frequency…it’s a constant roll/refresh.

So you're not going enough park days to make it worth the cost now? We're probably looking at 25 park days next year, with hopping pretty much every one of those days, so definitely a savings for us.

Not really…I went from “definite” to undecided.

I think I said this in the tower…it’s not the AP price itself. It’s the trend in dining price (fixed), pay for rides and pushing off costs like magical express and parking that is a snowball effect for me.

Chappie has no “couth”…as stock slave, you can say and want to do all that stuff…but not do it in 3 years like a bull in a China shop…after a plague .

awful excuse for a leader.

I getting to the same place myself.

We come back from a WDW trip and add up the costs and then have a "what the hell" moment. We still plan on keeping our DVC, but very likely we will start shifting to shorter, less frequent, vacations and getting larger accommodations. We also no longer do park days on our arrival days, and sometimes even do them mid-trip

We gave up AP's a while ago, along with Tables in Wonderland.

It's like death by a thousand cuts.

You know…that would be crushing to them. If people wanted to express their displeasure…they should start a #NOstudios campaign

Same. Honestly looking more forward to doing Vero on our next trip. Disney has finally made it obvious who has the bucks to throw around and who doesn't to enjoy the parks best. They are no different than the Vegas clubs that charge you $400 for a bottle of Vodka so you can sit at a table.

While we may have the bucks (sort of), they don't come easily. We do go on fairly expensive vacations, and we are thankful that we can. However we also expect to get value back for what we spend, and with WDW that value is no longer there.

We were booked at Hilton Head using DVC in 2020, but then that got changed with COVID. We ended up transferring points into RCI and using them on Hilton Head the following year (2021).

We went to WDW in the summer of 2021 as well, because we had not gone in a while, and we had points we had to use. WDW has the advantage of being in Orlando, which has (relatively) cheaper air fare than a lot of places.

We started looking at summer vacations for 2022, and right now WDW is not even in the running. My wife and I may bank/use/borrow for Aluani

There are number of things that I would like to see at WDW that are new, but right now they do not justify the cost, and now with Genie+ the hassle, of going.

Our plan is to SELL our DVC memberships, in 2022. We are aging (about 70), and WDW no longer cares for us.
So? We will recover whatever we can from DVC - if it's zero? Fine. In the past, it actually paid for itself.
