Drinks

Hello again all. Have another question. I'm pretty picky about what I drink. Do the ships carry Coke zero? Was thinking about bringing my own if not and was wondering in if I would be able to bring some bottles in my carry on baggage. I appreciate any and all answers. Thanks.

IDK if they have coke zero but yes you can bring your own drinks on in your carry on. I plan on bringing my waters and booze maybe a few small soda's for late late night when I do not want to wait on RS

Thanks. I try to stay away from "regular" soda's and don't care for diet. I know the parks offer coke zero so really hoping they do.

Ok, so I've read that Sprite zero is an option. Is this true? If so, its not quite Coke zero but better than nothing. Also just thought to ask if they offer Coke zero at Castaway Cay? I'm assuming no but hoping yes.

Along the same line....sort of. It is ok to bring your own mug for your favorite bubbly fountain beverage? I asked last year on another board (that shall not be named) and got "forum-whipped" for having the nerve to even ask. Most of the advice and/or direction turned out to be untrue anyway. I'm willing to buy a decent insulated mug or something on board but would rather use a larger container (not talking Super Big Gulp or anything).

I have a Wonder mug that I got on my first cruise and I sometimes bring it. I've never been told not to use it.

Figured it wasn't a big deal but some of the members of the other forums told me "no way", "that anything bigger than the cups Disney provided wouldn't even fit under the machine", and "using a bigger cup just ticks off everyone behind you because it holds up the line". They scarred me in ways I'll never be able to describe!

I plan on bringing my 24oz tervis tumblers....I do not plan on spending my time running back to soda machines...its free so no one should be put off by how much you put in a mug.

Perfect, I'm right there with you. And to put my hijacking back on track, I only hope to fill my new 24oz mug with Coke Zero!

No Coke Zero on our recent cruise. I am a big fan of Coke Zero. I wish they had it. We brought some bottles in Barcelona (hello, Spanish class) and kept them in our room. At dinner, I had water or lemonade. I hope it gets added before our next cruise.

The ONLY reason that I can think of for not allowing you to refill a mug is that they are hyper-cautious about spreading virus/germs. They do have signs at some stations asking you to use a new cup each time you get a drink. But nobody (cast member, that is) has ever made it an issue with me.

We bring big boy tumblers to use onboard because the little sippy cup size cups provided are toooooo small. I do try to be conscientious of my cooties and not refill directly contacting my cup to the dispenser. Instead, I use the paper sippy cup to dispense then dump it into my tumbler. I've done this in front of crew before, too. Never heard a peep from anyone. If I ever heard anything from fellow guests it was something along the lines of: "Man, I wish is thought to bring a bigger cup, too! That's smart!"

That was going to be my response as well.

They don't want you to stick a mug with your germs all over it under the dispenser. However, if you use a new cup to fill your old cup, that should be fine. I have never seen long lines for the drink dispensers.

They also frown upon people who don't use a cup at all and just stick thier mouth under the dispenser and get a drink. ;):D

BTW, there is no Dr Pepper either.
Nope, no DP. Most people prob'ly don't mind but to Texans that's short of sacrilege. When we went to Canada for the youngest BiL's wedding years back the hubby ordered a DP at a restaurant. The waitress apologized for not having that then offered root beer. We were all totally speechless. :P

Yall are too funny. I'll be bringing some CZ with me and some sort of cup/mug/tumbler for SZ. o_O:p

I'll venture to sound an even deeper shade of looney and also point out that the hubby & I actually plan to bring a 2nd tumbler each to use for ice and/or ice water. The ice is the awesome little kind which is great for munching. We drank lots of ice water last trip but drinking from our usual tumblers we mix our drinks in tastes just a hint off. So we're bringing dedicated ice water tumblers for our next voyage. :P

I read where you had recommended this earlier, and I agree...drinks vs water leaves a weird taste in the bottle.

So, I took the advice and picked up some large water bottles for our trip. For packing, I'll use the space inside for something...not sure what yet, but that way the inside of the bottle isn't just empty space. I'm considering putting my laundry kit into one bottle, and maybe extra toiletries into the other?

Anyhow, thought it was a great idea...especially for lounging by the pool while keeping an eye on the kid.
