Dreamworks Possibly Making Halo Movie?

There has been so much talk about a HALO movie that any new talk immediately goes to the I will believe it when I see it pile. That being said I would love to see a well done HALO movie made. I think it is long overdue. It is a great franchise with a rich storyline and it just begs for a movie or series of movies to be made about it.

I am not sure how well it would fit into a Disney park as the themes are fairly adult and pretty dark. I certainly would not object to it but I think I would be in the minority on that opinion.

Ditto! it sucks Peter Jackson is doing it. He would've made the movie great!

Nah. The deal is with Dreamworks and Universal has had it's hand in the project entirely too much for it to come to Disney. And too much money. Not to mention a Halo ride doesn't belong in Disney World.

Sure it does! See Master Chief could be incorporated into SGE and blow up Stitch!

As movie studios... they have friendly competition and work together a lot on random stuff. Though if dreamworks pictures does make a Halo movie based upon the novels, there is nothing universal could really do

and if disney really wanted to pay microsoft for the theme park rights they are welcome to do it...

I just don't see it working at all. This thread is just 100% speculation and has nothing to do with news and rumors. I guess we will see. Any attraction would be a welcome one at the Studios...even though it would be sooooo off in DHS. Just because it may be a film at some point, that does not equal a ride for DHS. Think about the over-all cohesiveness of the park (even if TDO does not). It just wouldn't flow.

A) This would be awesome.

B) If Buzz was replaced with Master Chief in Tomorrowland with a ride more like MiB at UNi rather than a cheap carnival ride, I could die a happy man.

Just imagine Warthog ride vehicles with 2 guests using MA5C ICWS Assault Rifles and one on the back with the M41.

It makes me sad, because I know it'll never happen.:(
I know it never will either. Just thinking out lout but the Dinosaur/Indy ride system would be perfect for this. You would need to make some sort of a modified Warthog to increase guest capacity but is would be doable. I would personally guarantee all fast passes will be gone by 10 AM everyday and the stand by line would be a consistent 200 minutes year round.

Meh, IMO Disney and Halo are two entity's which should just not cross paths

However, I'd love to see Uni have a Halo attraction. I've had this idea before and actually have sketched up some amateur concept art

It's been in and out of blue sky at uni (this was something before potter and rockit) since they looked at doing the movie... Just never could figure out what to do

I remember a while back when the movie was green lit.....the director of District 9 was attached to the project (that movie turned out fantastic). I know many other directors were attached or considered for the project, after it fell through he went off and directed District 9. If there was a movie I could not see Disney passing up on cashing in on this cow but who knows.

If anything happens, I hope this is a project that they do a good job with, it has a fantastic story and a massive following.

Dealings between Universal and DreamWorks are dead. Any projects put in development now belong to Disney. If released, this film would be a Touchstone/DreamWorks film. Not to mention Uni wouldnt really go any where near Halo seeing as they are in current legal battle with Fox in regards to the now dead Peter Jackson project. It has to do with expenses that werent paid or something. I cant really remember since the lawsuit started back like 2008. And why cant a Halo attraction work at DHS?

2. This project is different then the Universal/Fox film. That was Peter Jackson's project. This is Steven Spielberg/Stuart Beattie's project. Totally different projects. This one is based on the book Halo: Fall of Reach.

If this EVER happened,

like for some reason the stars aligned and every little thing that has to fall into place but is pretty much impossible does... etc, etc..

my bf would actually be excited about going to WDW for the first time.
He doesn't believe me that as a man in his 20's he is still going to love it.
