Dreamfinder's Return?

Maybe, but doubtful. The Disney comics from SLG and Boom! did very well too, and those didn't really have any effect on how Disney handled the properties therein. For the former, Gargoyles was the top selling comic SLG had ever done at that point, and we still had to wait another 6 years or so for Disney to put out the rest of the series on DVD.
SLG's stuff was also produced at a loss. Disney charged way too much for licensing and lead to them canning the books. They renewed the rights briefly enough to put unprinted issues in trade releases, but Haunted Mansion ended up being the unlucky one of the batch and the trade that would have finished things was never released.

There are those who say that sales of the hardcover might actually send a message.

Well, lots of small-press comic companies publish at a loss. That doesn't change the fact that Disney got paid, lots of issues were bought, and the series as a whole met with critical acclaim.

I don't know, I feel that it is inevitable. I just don't see him not coming back. Apparently there was talk of his return with the 07 refurb. The LEAST we'll get is a done on the cheap Dreamfinder overlay. The Imagination Institue doesn't have much so it wouldn't be a chore to gut the ride. It may be total wishful thinking, but I feel like his return is bound to happen.

During his speech upon accepting his Disney Legend honor at the D23 Con in 2013, Tony Baxter, in front of thousands of Disney fans and corporate folks, asked Bob Iger directly on stage when Dreamfinder was coming back.
The crowd went nuts...even more so then they did when Dreamfinder himself took the stage with little Figment.

In the delight of the moment, i do not recall what Bob*s answer was....if any.

Yes
I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

A redo of the ride with the updated look from the comic could work extremely well.

But, more likely, we'll see P&F. :p
Why would Disney put in a ride based on an ending TV show with waning popularity?

I think if anything in Epcot is going to return out of all the past attractions it would be Dreamfinder. Honestly Journey into Imagination is one of the only attractions in Future World that can keep up with the times, I think it's bound to happen. That area being turned into a hotspot again would bring in more merchandise sales then any other pavilion arround innoventions. That's one pavilion they can really market off for if they play their cards right.

I've always liked the "Imagination Institute" theme.. I thought it was quite a nifty idea. But because everyone was so attached to the original attraction and Dreamfinder, it didn't stand a chance in popularity.

I'm kind of wishing that they DO bring back Dreamfinder and upgrade the pavilion.. But I would still love to see a "lab" themed area at EPCOT. A Muppets Lab would be a fun replacement for one of the Innoventions buildings.

YES. Bunsen Honeydew subjecting Beaker to all sorts of shenanigans. Maybe even interactive kiosks where guests can torment poor Beaker. ... For science. This would be fun, educational torture.

Meh. Muppets have a home, and that home isn't in Futureworld.

That said, if they were to pick that IP for a Labs, I'd rather see it go into the Magic Eye Theater or the Imageworks upstairs. But, I'd rather they build out the Labs (cause I do think it would be fun) at HS and flesh out Muppet Studios over there (as was originally the plan, iirc, before it got scaled back to one attraction and some general theming).

I can't wait to see your reaction when they close down the ride altogether to save on operating costs.

(just to be clear, both are unlikely to happen, so let's not jump to conclusions)
You know what they say, though, "If you can dream it you can do it!" (And yes I know that's the wrong ride)

I wouldn't put it past them, dont think it hasnt been discussed....and personally I feel Dreamfinder will return about the same time we get a new pavilion (actual country) in WS...which would not be during any of our lifetimes. Unless maybe your five years old right now or something. Sorry but I think its going to take a big sponsor or huge change in management and that just isnt happening. At this point the pavilion is such an embarrassment, I would rather see an Imagination Inside Out attraction, and somehow they could still incorporate figment.

Disney does seem to hint to it being a possibility. Such as the Tommorowland movie a possible revamp for Tommorowland, the Star Wars movie a possible expansion for Star Wars etc etc. I can only hope that the comics and the D23 meetings were their hints to a return of Dreamfinder.
