dreamfinder is at one of the eurodisneylands at the haunted mansion. he is in one of the scenes in the ride and takes off his head. its supposed to symbolize that he is never returning to the journey into imagination at epcot.

Imagination has been a nightmare since they changed the original, and I have to agree that short of an entirely new concept or restoring the original and using at least SOME of the enormous amount of wasted space, including the upstairs, there is no hope of appeasing any of us. The attraction will remain barren and unintersting until they throw some serious money and "imagination" into it. Doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon. :(

Gut the worthless attraction and get something new, move on with the new Dreamfinder is ancient history and should be left where ever he resides that not being in EPCOT

In my opinion, JII should be the epitome of all the creativity the Imagineers have to offer. Whether Dreamfinder or Figment are there are irrelevant (though they would not hurt the attraction).

In 1999, shortly after the original JII was replaced and Figment removed, somebody asked Michael Eisner if Figment would ever return. Eisner's response was: "Figment has gone to Figment Heaven." A few years later, Figment returned. So the appearance of the Dreamfinder in Phantom Manor--and it's never been established if that actually is the original Dreamfinder or just another AA figure made from the same mold--really has little bearing on whether he will ever return to JII. :)

While it is true that the Mayor inside of Phantom Manor has the same face (thanks to the magic of Disney molds) as the Dreamfinder, there is no truth to the statement that it has symbolism, especially as blatant as that. No Disney character is truly dead. Figment and Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit are shining examples of this.

.....Also, I disagree that WOM's replacement was a quality attraction. I've always thought Test Track was extemely lame, an uninteresting dark ride based solely on the present without a real eye to the future. In addition, if it weren't for the part where it goes really fast at the end, I think very few would want to ride it again...it's a thrill ride in a Park that wasn't supposed to be about cheap thrills. It never felt like a Disney-quality attraction to me.

VERY well said! :sohappy:

For me, "Test Track" is a silly excuse for a EPCOT attraction...but i will admit, i do not totally blame Disney. A lot of the blame falls on GM, as they were the ones who pushed Disney HARD to make the pavillion more directly car-related like it is today.

Thanks a lot, GM.

And the SAD part is.....it WAS until they trashed the Original!

:brick:

Argh!!!! Why! Why! Why!!!

Oh the humanity....

This should be made "Quote of the Year" ( right up there with: "We felt the time was right.." ) The Original JII was THE finest WDI created attraction EVER. It is indeed a horrendous tragety that it was allowed to be destroyed.

Well, part of the rumour is true in some sense, as the "original Dreamfinder" , the gent who protrayed him in character and voice, is attending "Celebration 25" i have been told.

So in a sense, he will be back....so to speak!

:D

Doesn't one of the official Epcot 25th anniversary pins prominently feature Dreamfinder (albeit much smaller than Figment, for some reason)? I take that to be a good sign, at least...
