Yes
I would imagine that is going to depend on what happened and what they can do to prevent/stop it from occurring again.
No issue with the float returning to service. Just may never breath fire again.

Exactly. I meant A-mode with Fire. There are steps that can be taken to reduce risks of course, but it will be interesting to see what is decided moving forward

Realistically, I’ll be surprised if legal allows this float to return to service. That would be a bummer.

They'll be able to determine what caused it and make the necessary adjustments to the fire system design to prevent a recurrence and then complete the repairs. It will not be quick but I fully expect it will return as a part of the parade. It seems at a minimum a refresh will require it's own onboard automated fire suppression system being installed for the safety of the performers (especially driver) as well as guests.

I'm interested in what they did with the floats that follow the Dragon... I assume they can't reverse the floats easily? Did they stay out onstage until the dragon could be towed away?

At a best guess I would say the pipe that supplies the gas came loose/split and when the fire was next ignited the gas was in a place it wasn't meant to be.

I know WDW has its own FD, but does each individual park have a station? Or do they have specialists that extinguish and clean-up fires for each area / event?

I don't expect to see a modern-day firetruck rushing down mainstreet but hey.. it could happen right? :p

Based on video, this one was put out with fire extinguishers. There are multiple RCID Fire stations around the property. The closest one to the Magic Kingdom is out behind the area of Splash Mountain. There is also another one behind Japan in Epcot.

In the event of a major fire event (top of 7DMT) they can and do bring fire trucks right into the park to put it out. It's rare but if it's needed they will (and have) absolutely bring them in. 'Magic' isn't an issue when you're considering safety.
