News Dragon caught fire in today’s Festival of Fantasy parade

How is this even possible? Wouldn’t they have made it all fire proof in some way? I assume wind blew the flames back into the dragon.

This probably marks the end of the fire once they fix it...

I don't think the exterior structure of the dragon itself is what caught on fire. Looks like it is coming from the internal system they use that produces the fire effect.

Clearly looks like lots of damage to the head and upper neck regions. I don't expect we'll see the dragon back in the parade for a while. They'll need to understand what caused it and develop and implement design changes to prevent recurrence, along with the actual repairs of the float infrastructure

I'll be watching to see if it's pair in Paris is removed from their parade tomorrow as a precaution until the cause of the fire is identified and a remediation and safety plan is put in place.

I would imagine that is going to depend on what happened and what they can do to prevent/stop it from occurring again.

No issue with the float returning to service. Just may never breath fire again.

If they decide to not add the fire back, I imagine they can could get the float back a lot faster. Mine Train had a roof fire and they reopened the same day.
