Trip Report Doing it Live One Last Time! It's Our "Let's Try Some New Things" Summer Adventure to Disney World

Since its already after nine and we are getting up at 2:45 for our drive from the Lehigh Valley to the Philadelphia airport, I figured I'd get the beginning details of our trip posted.

Our flight is scheduled for 6:50 am arriving in Orlando at 9:20. Ive been looking all week on the SWA site, and it has shown this flight arriving early each morning this week!

Our first resort is AKL. We plan on dropping off the kid's carry on bags at bell services, trying to check-in, then heading straight to the MK. We have FP+ for Peter Pan at 12:30, followed by lunch at the Plaza at 1. After lunch, we have FP+ for SDMT and Space Mountain. Crystal and I were able to ride the mine train twice during the 24 hours in May, but that was an adults only trip (really wish I had done a live TR for that trip), so this will be a first for Brayden and Madelyn.

We have a week long stay planned at AKL before moving to GF for a week and finishing up a relaxing resort only stay at YC. We never just did resort only activities in WDW, so this will be a first for us.

Other firsts this trip will be both water parks, La Nouba, and Harambe Nights. We also have The Frozen activities planned in HS.

We are trying a few new restaurants as well. As I stated in the countdown thread, we have no plans on a trip to WDW or DL anytime soon. We really want to see and do many of the things we always talk about, but somehow never end up doing.

Have a good night everyone, and I'll be posting as time allows in the morning. Really excited for this trip!

No kitchen sink for us. My wife can't eat most of the toppings with her gluten intolerance, although I'm certain if it were all chocolate and vanilla ice cream I could eat all 8 scoops myself :)
Yeah, none for us either, but I bet I could put a big dent in it by myself if I could have it.
Thanks for the great pics of the YC, BC and BW area. We love it there. One of the best meals we ever had at WDW was sushi at Kimonos at the Swan. YUUUMMM.

Been at the pool for awhile and it's not crowded at all. We've never been at this pool during midday though. We are always here late afternoon when it's really crowded. Loving it now!
Enjoy the relaxation and the rest of your trip - will be a sad day when there is no more live TR to follow - but I'm sure you can find others to do on your next few years of adventures. You could always do Disney Paris when/if you get to Europe, or Hong Kong/Japan if you travel that far.

DLP is definetly a plan. We'd love Tokyo as well. Paris seems double within the next three to four years. At least, I hope!

Sorry that your trip is coming to an end. It helps me get more excited about our trip on the 19th!!! Following along and totally enjoying with your family. We also love Crews Cup. We have become good friends with Kim who works evenings there as she is also from MA. Will be reading along til the end. Have a safe trip home. When do you go back to work? After such a wonderful summer, I'm sure you are not looking forward to it.

Yes. Last night was the Rookie, but we watched that in our room earlier yesterday. Toy Story 3 tonight. The plan is both Illuminations and Frozen fireworks tonight
This is how we did it a couple weeks ago: we watched Illuminations from the boat dock. Then we boarded the boat to DHS. We found a bench (near the flag poles) to sit on, directly across from the entrance. It was a perfect place to watch the Frozen fireworks and we could see all of them unobstructed. When the finale concluded, we walked back to the boat dock and were one of the first to board, since most guests hadn't even made it out of the turnstiles yet.
