Trip Report Doing it Live One Last Time! It's Our "Let's Try Some New Things" Summer Adventure to Disney World

Since its already after nine and we are getting up at 2:45 for our drive from the Lehigh Valley to the Philadelphia airport, I figured I'd get the beginning details of our trip posted.

Our flight is scheduled for 6:50 am arriving in Orlando at 9:20. Ive been looking all week on the SWA site, and it has shown this flight arriving early each morning this week!

Our first resort is AKL. We plan on dropping off the kid's carry on bags at bell services, trying to check-in, then heading straight to the MK. We have FP+ for Peter Pan at 12:30, followed by lunch at the Plaza at 1. After lunch, we have FP+ for SDMT and Space Mountain. Crystal and I were able to ride the mine train twice during the 24 hours in May, but that was an adults only trip (really wish I had done a live TR for that trip), so this will be a first for Brayden and Madelyn.

We have a week long stay planned at AKL before moving to GF for a week and finishing up a relaxing resort only stay at YC. We never just did resort only activities in WDW, so this will be a first for us.

Other firsts this trip will be both water parks, La Nouba, and Harambe Nights. We also have The Frozen activities planned in HS.

We are trying a few new restaurants as well. As I stated in the countdown thread, we have no plans on a trip to WDW or DL anytime soon. We really want to see and do many of the things we always talk about, but somehow never end up doing.

Have a good night everyone, and I'll be posting as time allows in the morning. Really excited for this trip!

I know the angst-y feeling quite well. I feel that way every time we leave the Florida beach house.
Sad for you that you are all experiencing it now.
What amazing memories to live on though. You've had a trip of a lifetime for sure. All those great experiences for the kids to look back on!

I'm so excited for you for all your big travels to come.
It's been great living WDW with you these past two weeks.

Enjoy your days at YC!!

Wow..talk about bringing tears to your eyes. Im at work getting wet eyed lol. You have definately done this trip right. But hey, sounds like youve got some great sights to see. I went to Kauai HI and saw views 3 different times on that trip that brought tears to my eyes. Enjoy your adventures.

I am glad you all have had such a fantastic time on your trip, so far, because you are still there and now enjoying the Yacht Club. I hope you are able to see many other things on future trips elsewhere, but can make it back to Disney sooner than you think.
Thanks. I'm sure we will have adventures, but I'll still miss the Disney planning

I'm having major laptop issues. Not sure what's wrong. Can't post anymore tonight. In fact, can't even get on my computer. Not good

I bet it's the WiFi at AKL...I would only stay there over a weekend. I'd be in freak out mode on a weekday if I were trying to book a load or find a truck and couldn't get logged in or stay logged on..

As far as the dessert party tonight in Epcot, Crystal and I had a chance to do it in May when we stopped down for the 24 hour event. We loved it. We weren't sure and actually had low expectations after so many bad reviews online. But we loved it. We are really looking forward to going back tonight. The kids are very excited to be going tonight!

My only suggestion to those trying it the first time, if you want a table try to get there by 745. You are let in at 750 and this process is much faster than the Wishes dessert party.

Ah yes, I didn't care for it. I just didn't like the venue at all, compared to the Tomorrowland Terrace venue for Wishes. The offerings were good though. And in the end I discovered a new area to view Illuminations from...I had never seen it from that angle before...always I had been over by France or Italy or the Fish place.

Just finished up a late breakfast at the club. Going for a walk around the boardwalk then for a swim
Sounds like a great plan. We love resort days and pool time. Hope you have time for a kitchen sink at B&C while you are there. Since I am type 2 diabetic and we usually travel with just the two of us, we can only watch and wish as others attempt to finish off that monstrosity of melting mushiness.

No kitchen sink for us. My wife can't eat most of the toppings with her gluten intolerance, although I'm certain if it were all chocolate and vanilla ice cream I could eat all 8 scoops myself :)
