Thinking of staying at Port Orleans Riverside and Art of Animation (2 week split stay) and bringing our dog. Ive heard there are designated areas and rooms for those with dogs. Does anyone know which section this is (room wise) for Riverside and AoA?

I'm not a fan at staying at a dog friendly resort. I've done it in the past, and more often then not, I'm woken up by dogs parking at night because they're in unfamiliar setting with strange noises.

Yup, I stayed at Art of Animation and I could hear two dogs constantly barking two floors directly above me. And this was all day long. The owners left the dogs in the room all day and must have went to the park. I hate that. I left them a rather blunt note on their door.

At Riverside the dog-friendly building is Acadian House (in the Mansion section.)

Can’t help with AoA.

The dog-friendly pilot program ends October 15, 2018.

Although, just to add for anyone who has already booked. They are honouring existing bookings with dogs, although you may want to get that added as a note to your reservation.

This has happened to me as well. I feel bad for the dogs but angry towards the owners that leave them cooped up in the room all day. There is a beautiful luxurious kennel on property and I think that’s where dogs should be at WDW. I personally board mine close to home when I travel and he loves it. It’s like a resort for dogs and he gets excited when we pull up in the parking lot. I can’t imagine leaving him locked up in a hotel room for 12 hours while I’m at the parks. Kudos to you for leaving a note. I hope you let the hotel staff know as well.

I'm rethinking my resort selection because of this. It seems certain floors are designated for dogs, yet from reading it, I think its all buildings. There are no buildings that will be dog free.
