Does music from the various Disney Parks give you goosebumps or bring back happy memories?

I've got (wait let me look at iTunes...) 13.28 GB of Disney Parks music/sounds and I can tell you that I not only get goosebumps listening to some of it but I also tear up. There are so many songs I have that immediately choke me up. Some are songs from attractions that once were (a passion of mine) and some are songs that just make me long for the next trip or bring back a wonderful memory. The same is true when I'm on property. Certain things (like Wishes) give me that tingly goosebumpy feeling when they start up and then I find myself tearing up as they go on.

It's a completely uncontrollable unconscious thing too. I can't tell you how many times I've noticed someone at a red light looking at me with tears streaming down my face. I probably look ridiculous but I don't care. It's my "world!"

lol...just 13.28 GB

I have to say that Epcot has the best music by far and the two that give me a happy feeling is...

In the Epcot Entrance Loop the score is called Legacy..When I hear it getting close to the park and Staring at Spaceship Earth standing majestically in the warm Florida sun...It tells me...I am home!

And the other one is one you have to listen for very carefully as it only plays in one area at MouseGears. It is the 52 min version of the Innoventions Loop. This one has different songs including a few from the 19 min version that we all know and love that plays in the plaza..But, still it's an awesome loop.

Goosebumps? not really, but I do grin a lot. I put together a powerpoint as a thank-you to our Board of Trustees for funding a field trip, and I used part of the Illuminations:RoE music for the background. One of our teachers recognized the music right away and complimented me about the choice. It was kind of like getting a secret handshake.....

Wow! This thread got popular quick! :D

It's awesome to hear about everybody's favorite music from the parks. I am inclined to agree with most everyone that, yes, Epcot seems to have the best music out of all four parks. I was listening Sorcerer Radio the other day, and during its Epcot hour, they were playing quite a lot of the area music from the now defunct Wonders of Life pavilion. In my opinion, it was probably some of the absolute best area music I've ever heard out of all four parks... such a shame they couldn't keep up with the area and had to close it! I could've sat inside all day and just listen to the music! LOL!

Again, nothing can really beat the entrance loop... or the loop at the ticket area... or while riding Soarin'... or MJ's singing during Captain EO... or in the que at the now defunct HISTA (weren't they going to bring this show back after the hype?)... or while waiting for the pre-show to start at Ellen's Energy Adventure... or listening to "One Little Spark"... or Illuminations in general...

There's one thing I find curious about Epcot, though... at one point while you're waiting in the que for Soarin', an instrumental from Don Bluth's An American Tail seems to play quite frequently. Are they allowed to do that, even though the music wasn't from a Disney movie? o_O

Also, uh, nobody wants to know how much Disney music I have on my iTunes, much less music from animated films in general (how do you think I managed to find out that piece of music in the Soarin' que was actually from An American Tail?)... It's practically embarrassing. But, I suppose that's the price I pay for loving my favorite childhood movies so much. I'm not ashamed in the slightest.

Just saw BRAVE tonight- fabulous!:D The music from Brave is nice.
I know it's absolutely corny, but IASW after all is very nostalgic for me, as well as Tiki Room and POTC.

In WDW, there is this one part during Illuminations: RoE that always gives me chills and goosebumps. It's the part when all of the country pavilions light up at the same time, and the music is like dum, da, DUMMM!! And then the part right after that makes me feel all happy and proud. I love it! I'll post it here if you're wondering what I'm talking about. It starts exactly at 8 minutes.
Great choice!
That exact bit at 8:00 is the main theme from 'Promise', which is played following the show. Your 'dum, da DUMMM!!' is 'We'll(dum) go(da) on(DUMM)'. You can sing along: 'We'll go on, growing closer through the years. Moving on, through the good times and the tears'. It's great to hear the central themes, musical as well as symbolic, of the score repeated throughout different songs.

The Promise, incidentally, currently is my favourite Disney song. I always well up when I hear it.

Music is so important to Disney parks. Without is like listening to a movie without a soundtrack. The emotions will absent.
And EPCOT has got the best music of all the parks. Indeed, the music makes EPCOT. But the reverse is also true: EPCOT makes the best music. EPCOT's themes inspire grandness, the bold gesture, lyricism. The park creates the tone of its music as much as the music creates the tone of the park.

EPCOT seeks to inspire. To instill a love for man and his accomplishments. It is bold optimism, self-assured, but with a love and respect for all. The music reflects this, is inspired by it, seeks to reflect EPCOT's themes and identity. This is why EPCOT's music is always so grand, so good, the very best of any park.

(No, Epcot is not about b-celebs and cartoons. No. No, it isn't. It really isn't. It is something so much better.)

Any music from Epcot. Don't get me wrong the music from all of the parks is spectacular and beautiful but there's something special about Epcot's music which strikes a chord with me. In particular the Illuminations music brings back tonnes of good memories, I find myself getting very emotional when I listen to that song because of how many memories it holds for me.

I'm glad that I am not alone. I love, love, love the park music but it doesn't stop there, I also love the music from the Disney movies. I have several CD's in the car that we listen too all the time. I swear to you that it can change a bad mood to a good mood in a heartbeat. :D

Yes, the music of Disney is just as important to memories as anything else. Years ago, I owned an LP of music from Disneyland. I almost wore that album out, especially the 5+ minute track from Main Street Electrical Parade. I replaced it with an early 90s "Official Album of Disneyland and Walt Disney World" CD. They cut the MSEP track down to 4:30 and added a whole bunch of other stuff. A friend gave me her CD "Fantasmic!" that had the MSEP and the Fantasmic music on it, broken up into little tracks. I didn't like it as well as the early 90s CD.

As a school music teacher, I used the MSEP weekly with my primary students, as the accompaniment for a stick routine. Their faces would LIGHT UP, even though the kids these days didn't recognize it like they did years ago when the parade was running in either DL or DCA.

ONE MORE DAY and we'll be there!

I have a podcast on my ipod of Wishes. I love it b/c it's not just the soundtrack...i.e. you can hear the fireworks and crowd reactions as well. If I close my eyes, it kind of feels like I'm there (I try not to do that in traffic!). It's realistic enough...at least to me...that it brings me to tears in most of the places I would if I were viewing the show in person.

Beyond that- I get a big grin on my face whenever my ipod gets to the MSEP music. I'm immediately transported to childhood and reminded of that first night my dad finally agreed to stay in MK for the parade...he's always liked to get a jump on the crowds so he usually had us leave early.

Music from the parks and resorts makes me happy! Whether it is Spectro, Main St U.S.A., Polyn area music, etc. Always listening to it whenever I am on my laptop. I need to buy some CD's so I can listen to the music in my car.. might make my school commute less stressful :D
