Does it bother you, not arriving at the TTC?

That sounds like heaven to me at this moment.

I took a heart pay cut to move out here and have not stopped smiling since (2007), it was the best move the family I ever made. We drive to a city of 23,000 people to dine, movies, shop etc, that is about 25 mins away. Kinda the best of both world. I work in town, 1.9 miles from where we live, the wife works at a school about 8 miles away. We are blessed to be honest :)

Crappy internet and limited places to eat in town are about the only downsides to living here.

I like to experience ttc for the boat (that I've never rode) and monorail, but I'm also glad it's not every trip to mk. We are there when we go epcot to mk.

I do think ttc seems rather ran down compared to mk. It needs some fresh paint and maybe a few visual features. It feels like an old amusement park entrance.

I agree it needs a refresh for sure.

You are speaking to me! I like arriving by bus from my resort to MK when I am in a rush. But there is nothing like taking the TTC boat to MK (even more so at night) now that is magical. I

This is directed mostly to resort guests. I was wondering if anyone else feels like I do. For me one of the few drawbacks of staying on property is arriving by Disney transportation at the gate to the Magic Kingdom, instead of the TTC. Part of the magic for me has always been riding the tram to the ticket center and then the monorail to the main gate. It's just such a special way to arrive. Seeing the castle across the lake. And slowly making your way towards it. *sigh* I really miss that.

No, sorry can't say I do. The least amount of time I have to be at TTC the better. Our first trip back in the 80s we stayed off property and parked and took the tram in. So glad I never had to do that again after that!

Havent ever had the "experience" of taking the tram in. Never looked very magical. Always used the monorail or bus transportation.

The MK is theater, with a beginning, a middle and an end. To be unceremoniously dumped right at the gate is akin to a play whose first act is performed while the audience is trickling in.

I will go out of my way to visit the MK by monorail. And EPCOT - it doesn't feel right to enter via the backdoor. (Said no Frozen bronie ever)

Besides, the monorail or ferry is the first ride of the day.
Ehh.. I get all that. But outside of maybe your first visit, or nostalgia, its such a pain to park and know you still won't be at the gate for another 20 minutes or so.

Not at all, I like being dropped off close. However, I hate the way the walkway bottle necks as you get closer to the security check and turnstiles (or scanners), it should be a little wider.

I have gone there via the TTC, with one exception, since my first visit 31 years ago. The one time that I stayed on site and was dropped off at the gate, I felt that so much of my memories and sentimentality were connected to the TTC entrance. I read the stuff about how it was supposed to work, and it did. The slow move to MK, the buildup of anticipation, the view of the castle in route on the ferry. They are all a part of the MK experience. I have never been in a big enough hurry that I was willing to miss that, it is my jump start to the park. Others mileage may vary. Mine never will.

You got that all RIGHT! But the masses are wanting it over quick. I love the ride over on the ferry on the first day. It is all part of the experience.

I grew up staying onsite so I was used to being dropped off at the gate.

When I finally stayed offsite the hassle of waiting for a tram, then waiting in the boat or monorail line just seemed like a big hassle and waste of time. I'd rather just get dropped off at the front. I like to book a meal at a monorail resort so I can ride it then.

Completely agree. A great part of the WDW experience is the MK approach on the monorail. Saying onsite at a non-monorail resort has a completely different feel than staying at a monorail resort (or otherwise arriving at MK by way of the monorail).

We stay on site, but always choose to drive to the parks, so we arrive at the TTC. We don't tram it because 'thanks' to a drunk driver, we park up front.

I really prefer not having to hassle with Disney transport from the hotel and I rather like arriving at MK by monorail or boat. I prefer boat, but I think that kids prefer monorail so we tend to arrive by monorail and leave by boat unless it's super crowded in which case we boat both ways.

One question, how slowly exactly was your way towards it? Before I became a resort guest it could take an hour or more before I arrived at the MK station. Waiting in a non-air conditioned station at the TTC after a long walk from the bus parking lot or a ride with the trolley when we came by car, sometimes for half an hour or longer, is something I don't miss at all. I consider being dropped off directly at the MK by the Disney bus one of the greatest advantages of being a resort guest. It saves up to an hour or more.

I enjoy the convenience of being dropped off close but I do love the trams gets me pumped up as well personally I would rather drive take the tram and then go versus getting dropped off at the front and then leaving having to be squished on a bus with a bunch people that always seems to happen to me

I consider it a bonus that we get dropped off close to the entrance at MK. I would be seriously annoyed if after paying for Disney hotel prices I was just dropped off at the TTC like I rode the city bus in.

I am in the minority here because I experience the parks differently being a pass holder for my 11th straight year. That being said, I would be thrilled if I never had to go to the TTC again. Knowing that I am going to waste a considerable amount of time getting to the park from the TTC or leaving the park to be dropped off at the TTC actually limits my trips to MK compared to the other parks that are more easily accessible. When I do go to MK I never stay for the fireworks because I have to beat the rush of people heading to the monorails. It is especially hell when you get caught in one of those rare occasions while try to leave during a severe storm or even worse when the monorail is down completely. I know it is not feasible, and I certainly don't expect this, but I wish there was a pass holder parking lot near the park gates. I would certainly visit MK much more if there was.

We usually drive to WDW and so we normally just drive to the parks (since you get free parking while staying onsite). We found that driving tends to be faster than waiting for the buses. At least the buses at the economy hotels. So we still get to take that monorail or the ferry to MK. In a few years we won't have kids to drag along and will be able to afford the higher end hotels. Perhaps we will see if the buses there are better. But may have to still drive that first day to MK because going to MK without the monorail would just feel funny.
