Does declining a CP invitation hurt your chances?

Just found out that I got accepte and it only took a week and a 4 days.
But they put me for QSFB so I'll be turning it down. I already made a perfect fall schedule giving me a few days off so I'm thinking I'll just get a job working attractions at universal since its a little closer and try again for the cp in spring.
Will turning down their offer hurt my chances of being selected again next semester?

No, it won't hurt your chances in the future so long as you decline within two weeks of receiving your offer.

If your reason for declining is related to the role you were extended (which I assume it is), you may want to contact recruiting to see if it's possible to get the role you were extended changed. I wouldn't hold a lot of stock in that, but it's something I would check to see if possible before declining.

Two days after I interviewed I actually sent them a really polite email basically begging for attractions and ended up with qsfb so I don't really want to come off as annoying and email again.
Its really no big for me to decline, I already live in orlando so its not that much of a hassle to just try again until I get a role I like.

I'd reconsider turning it down based on getting QSR, I enjoyed every minute of my CP working QSR, I actually think I had more fun doing that than I did doing entertainment. Working fast food at Disney is nothing like working at a McDonalds or something.
But if you live in Orlando why not just apply with Disney regularly instead of the CP? That way you'd make more money and have an actual choice over what job you get. They're hiring for attractions right now.

I'd apply for a regular job but the main reason I want to do the CP is for the engineering class they offer.

Thats actually a really good idea! I'll try it out tomorrow.

Pending availability, any Disney Cast Member can participate in Disney College Program Class, given they meet any requirements set by a particular course (IE: the PDS courses are only available to cast majoring in that specific course topic). You can contact education operations at wdw.disney.education.ops@disney.com and ask them about requirements specifically.

Note that only current cast members with proper ID will be able to take these courses.

Since you're a local, maybe you could just take the class anyway if they have a spot. Don't know if you've asked, but it might be worth a phone call.

That's a good point. During my first CP, there was a manager (I think) in my class (I took Hospitality Management).
