Does anyone know what is the earliest you can check into an onsite resort?

I know that your room probably won't be ready but what is the earliest you can check into your resort to get your tickets and such? I'm asking because my wife, stepson and I are going to be at Disney World from Aug. 10th until the 14th staying at Coranado Springs Resort. We're staying offsite the night before and want to find out how early we can head on over to Coranado Springs Resort in the morning..

You can check in as early as you would like, if they have a room ready for you can check into your room. If not, they will give you your room keys which are also your park entry tickets if you purchased them as part of your package. With that you will get a card with a phone number and a time to call and get your room number so you can check in when you return from the parks.

I think most are 3:00pm & a few may be 4:00pm, at least that is what I read. I don’t know if you can get in any earlier or not. I’m sure you can check in so you can go about your day, but you probably can’t get into your room until closer to the 3 or 4pm hour.

You could check in at 5am or 6 am, etc. if you want to.
Your room won't be ready and they will store your luggage for you.

We did what you are doing once- arrived late and stayed at a cheap flop house the first night, then went over to POR at 7am the next morning and checked in.
Then we went to the parks and came back that afternoon when our room was ready and got our room keys.
They give you a number to call to check.

Good luck.

I was very impressed on our last trip. We checked in at the Contemporary at 11am and our room was ready. A few days later we checked in at Old Key West at 11:30 am and our room was ready!

Only once was our room every ready when we arrived in the morning. And it was in July at Pop Century so we were surprised. Of course our luggage wasnt there yet because DME still had it so we just checked out our room since it was our first time staying there, and headed to Epcot.

I am glad that you asked this question because we will get there around 11:00 am. I was wondering about the early check-in because we want to hit the parks as soon as we get there.

As a rule I check in early - 10:00 AM or so.

Rarely has my room been ready at that hour. Most of the time it's ready by noon.

Most of the time I just hang around the resort waiting. My luggage is with DME, and if it's winter, I may go change in the health club locker room to whatever is in my carry-on. If it's BW or YC/BC I may take a walk to EPCOT for a while, but if I am somwhere else, I usualy just hang around until the room is ready.

Bell services will hold your stuff if you want to go to a park or swim, or just don't want to hang onto it yourself.

Thanks for the info all! I guess we'll get to Coranado Springs by about 8am or so and see what happens. One year we went and did the same thing but stayed at Caribbean Beach. We got there about 9 and our room was ready! Guess that doesn't happen to often though...lol

Actually there is a limit as to how early you can check in - i tried checking in to AKL once at 5:30am and was told the computers aren't updated with the next day's reservations until 7:00am. After speaking with a manager I was able to get my KTTW cards (needed them for morning EMH) since I didn't need park passes encoded onto them. I think if you are on a package with your park tickets encoded onto the KTTW cards, then they would have needed to wait for the 7:00am update.

It's highly likely that your room would be ready before 11 at the earliest, unless is the very low season. But you will be able to store your luggage at the resort then go enjoy the parks.

Last Christmas we were staying at AS and moving to beach club the next AM. I ended up spending the entire night at the ER with our infant (ear infection) and before I went back to AS, i headed to BCV and checked us in there. That was about 5:15am and our room was ready. We were able to check in immediately. Good thing since I had not gotten any sleep the night before.

We made our Cape May ressies for 8:00am and then the baby & I when to sleep while DH and DS headed to Epcot.

They may have been extra accomodating due to my circumstances, but if you are traveling during a light travel time your room may be ready.

To clarify...

Official Check-in is 3:00 PM at all Disney Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts; 1:00 PM at Fort Wilderness Campsites; and 4:00 PM at Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Official Check-out is 11:00 AM at all Disney Resorts, Villas and Campsites.

EARLY CHECK-IN

You can register as early as 7:00 AM at any Disney Resort. While the room may not be ready at that time, you may complete the rest of the registration process. You will receive your Resort Key to the World (KTTW) Cards with your Theme Park tickets, dine plan, room charge privilege and any other included package components encoded on it upon registering.

If your room is ready, the front desk will be happy to assign it to you early. If your room is still being prepared, you will be given a phone number to call to find out the status of your room availability. Once you are told your room is ready, you will not need to return to the front desk. Your KTTW card will automatically be activated to open your guest room door.

While waiting for your room availability, feel free to give any luggage you may be carrying to Bell Services and start enjoying your Resort's pool or other amenities or hop on the resort transportation to visit any of the Theme Parks or Downtown Disney.

LATE CHECK-IN

If a Guest has a deposit on the reservation, the Resort will hold the room until check-out the following day.

LATE CHECK-OUT

Late check-out availability is limited. Requests for late check-out can be made at the Front Desk any time after arrival. There may be an additional charge for a late check-out based on the time you wish to vacate your room.

In all my trips not once was I not able to check in when I arrived at the resort. In 06' we checked in at 9:30 in the morning and were able to go to our room. Last year we checked in at 10:30am.:)

I say go there early in the am. If your room is ready, great!! If not, get your KTTW card and go play in the parks. You luggage will be stored for you.:)

We were there in May. We too stayed off site the night before and went to Pop Century the next morning. We arrived at Pop at 7 am and our rooms were not ready but they were able to activate our MYW tickets and dining plans that started that morning. They gave us the number to call about our room being ready later in the day and it worked out fine.

You can check in any time but they won't allow you to enter your room until 3-4pm. Our room wasn't ready until around 3pm and we arrived at POP around 7:30am.
