Does anyone else think...

I dont understand why people feel they are removing Snow White without a suitable replacement. So what if its not in the same location? Yeah I understand if you get real nostalgic when you ride it or whatever, but the same story is being told in a new, super themed modern version. On the other side of the path no less! The repurposing of the show building is kind of irrelevant and obsessing about something just because thats how it always was.

You argue "well demolishing the Castle and rebuilding it elsewhere is exactly what you are suggesting in my opinion" or whatever, but it is important to note that SW has severely aged. Rebuilding it bigger and better is the best option in my opinion. It is like a refurbishment in a way, except they are using a classic ride and starting from ground up. Think Dumbo :p

I don't care so much that they're removing SWSA as much as they're removing an actual ride. I'm a ride guy so I hate it when rides get removed and replaced with something else. The mine cart ride is great, but I look at it as an addition. The M&G is SWSA's replacement.

I both love and hate M&G's. I love them because they generate long lines of people that would otherwise be waiting in line for a ride that I'm wanting on. I hate them because some of them take up so much space, a good ride can often go there. I don't buy a theme park ticket to see M&G's, I buy it for the rides. I realize that everyone is not the same way as me, but I'm selfish. At least, I admit it. :D I want rides, rides, and more rides! haha So yeah, taking a ride and replacing it with a M&G makes me want to :fork: regardless if there's already two really amazing rides coming. I say make it three! :D

We all know the parents pay for our trips to Disney, but do you think they are really taking the fun out for the younger crowd. I do not have kids, but it seems SOOO much has been removed for them.

From the pictures of this mine coaster, it doesn't appear to have a large fear factor (good for kids).. because it will not be very high from the ground. But I'm getting the feel that it will probably be the speed like Matterhorn, slower and smooth... well except for the mine car moving all over the place! haha...

I agree, why can't they change it to the pinocchio ride from DL or something. It doesn't seem like it would take a lot of money or effort to change it over. Something Disney seems to like.

Yes, it's my favorite dark ride at DL. It really is a no brainer...

True, leave the current track in place and build a new ride around it, instead they are going to gutt the building and repurpose it, a new ride will never happen for a couple decades at least. I would love to see Pinocchio in there, also would have been a good spot for Rapunzel.

Yes, Pinocchio please.

Sounds like the easiest thing to do imo. I don't understand why they won't do it. They could even keep the cars!!! I wouldn't mind snow white leaving for pinocchio but changing a ride to a rinky meet n greet? I know it's not for people my age and stuff, but come on!! It's not like MK suffers from small spaces, they could put this 'meet n greet' anywhere and leave snow white alone or at least change it to pinocchio. End Rant....

Yes, there's gotta be many other places they could put that m&g...make Pinocchio.

You bring up a good point. I've always thought that the MK was just a tad too similar to Disneyland.

Just good natured ribbing. I think it looks a lot different, and will be very fun. Hey, it's all speculation now until we actually get to ride it--which is waaay too far out for my taste, but there you have it.

If I remember correctly, it was being reported that the track is not going to be removed. A false floor is going to be installed as the current, long term plan is to have that space become a dark ride once again.

I am actually looking forward to the "upgrade" to SW. The dark ride, yes, is a classic. I will miss it. However, if I understand correctly, the mine ride will be going through the mines with animatronics - so, in essence, we are getting a hybrid dark ride (I am thinking this through correctly?).

What does bother me is the return to the temporary attraction. The Royal Gathering Shack or whatever it has been dubbed, to me, sounds like Mickey's Birthday-land all over again. Please prove me wrong. I am not against anyone finding a place to talk with your favorite characters; however, there are so many great ideas yet to be dreamt. Maybe we will see a wonderful replacement of this area - only time will tell. Any other thoughts?

I think the mine cart ride will be good because it will be a rollercoaster in fantasyland, not a very exciting one, but it will be between barnstormer and big thunder for whoever asked the question, so no underground flips :( .... but still i think it is a different theme and a good replacement for the classic, but simplistic snow white ride. I wasnt a fan of the princesses each getting seperate castles and this version is much better because with the princesses in the greeting hall it gives imagineers some wiggle room with new princesses. (Tiana and Rapunzel) so i like the idea completely

I absolutely and completely think it's too similar to Big Thunder Mountain. Magic Kingdom – Mine Train Coaster Kingdom of the World.

My hopes are the theming makes it a completely different experience. I also hope it's pretty tame – more like a dark ride with hills. Barnstormer is too much for my 5 year old, so I'm really hoping this one is actually a step down.

If it's between Barnstormer and BTMRR in intensity, I don't know how it could be considered a family coaster.

Well if you figure Barnstormer goes no faster than 20mph and BTMRR's max speed is 36 i would say thats a pretty calm family coaster. Especially with singing dwarves and animals...:p

Agreed. Big Thunder is a family coaster. Barnstormer is a kiddie coaster. There's NOTHING for adults to enjoy in Fantasyland (expanded or current), so I would love a non-juvenile attraction.

The only Fantasyland attraction I regularly skip is Dumbo, the Flying Elephant because of its long wait times.
