Does disney read these boards, and others like it? I think so, if only because it is free research and they would be stupid not to.

Do I think that the discussions that happen here significantly impact decisions at Disney, or anywhere near that of research and comments from the general guest population? Most certainly not.

I see that, however unfortunate it may be, that the views and opinions of those that post here are seen by Disney as a small subset or niche of those held by the average guest, and while they may read what is posted here, they don't act on it because of this.

In some ways I see where they are coming from, I mean, they run the parks in an effort to please the most people that walk in the door, and I don't think on the whole that we here share the same opinions and priorities as the majority of the guests.

I think we all here have what is best for the parks overall in mind, because we are a much more informed audience. I think the average guest is only concerned with their own personal experience. Unfortunately, Disney is more inclined to listen to the latter.

Personally, I don't think Disney has people on the payroll specifically to read Discussion boards.

Some execs might read boards to get a general feeling of how people feel about certain things but I doubt they use these boards for solid decision making.

They have people in the parks taking surveys all the time and all rides and attractions are monitored for attendance and between emails and customer relations they have a pretty good idea how people feel and what they like and/or don't like at the Parks. I doubt they need discussion board imput for decision making when they have paid experts monitoring all their systems for this kind of information on a daily basis.
Just my thoughts.

Disney is a company that likes to always be one step ahead. So yeah, for sure, they read them. That's just smart business sense

Im sure they do read the boards, but in regards to the effect of what we say on decision making in the World, I doubt they take much notice. We represent a minority in WDW guests, albeit a very hardcore minority!

Well, at least they are aware of this site. I once participated in an online survey on Disney's website and they asked which other sites I used to get information on WDW and wdwmagic was one of those that were named specifically (I think i remember allears, DISboards and mouseplanet as well, but I am not sure. There were a few others as well I think...)

Yeah, I think they read them. Do I think they care what's said on here? Well that's a different subject.....:brick:
